fhantom
Okay, folks, here is the review for srixon i505 iron with nippon ns pro 950 GH s shaft, as well as crews golf triple sole wedges (53 & 58) with ns pro 1050 s shaft I got those babies in Japan while I was on a business trip there. Srixon I-505: Nice address position, thin top line, reasonable offset, good appearance with high-end club qualify. When I make my very first swing with 9 iron, immediately felt its light weight and fell in love with it. 30g less weight in the shaft than my original PRGR (rifle 6.0) really makes my swing much smoother and easier, especially the long irons, with deep tungsten weight, help a high trajectory with carry distance. The impact feels really soft, and I can really feel the ball stay in the club face for a very quick moment, which really help me to deliver a much compact swing to work the ball around, from normal high fade to a low punch. most impressively, those irons work really good from long rough, especially with mid irons, I got 9/10 within 170 yard from rough in three rounds. Distance wise, due the the softer and lighter shaft, I gain a bit distance as well, most in mid irons, which allow me have more reasonable gap between them, now my 5 iron is 190 yards, which’s about 5 yards more than my old PRGR but with much easier swing. The only thing I might complain a bit is the high ball trajectory, which might be due to the facts of: 1) low center of cavity with tungsten weighting deep in, 2) softer and lighter shaft compare to my old iron with Rifle 6.0, and 3) my upright swing path. I think it might be even better if I got ns pro 1050 shaft for it. Overall, there is nothing to complain, especially with a very good price for it, I think I will keep this set of iron for a very long while ..... Crews Golf triple sole wedge: Never really heard Crew Golf before I saw one one. The first impression I had was – ha, funny name -, yet, the name might be kind of funny, but not those sweet wedges ..... I also got two wedges (53 /8 & 58 /9) at the same place I got my srixon at Tokyo, those wedges have a small club head with black finish which really makes its tour look. The impact is softer than you can believe, I think it is due to crew golf’s CR-forged technology, you can feel the ball and the head truly, and the control is unbelievable – really easy to spin it or lob it, especially in bunker. I think this is the best wedge I have even hit. I wish I can post my pictures here to share with everyone, yet, just have no idea how it can be done. Yet, here is the link to the companies web page, you might can find out more info there. plus1
great write up fhantom! ive heard many good things about the japan srixons and the feel is meant to be quality! hpefully you can post pics soon so we can see these babies properly! the triple sole wedges certainly do look sweet, but i was dubious about the feel......i was worried they would be very hard and harsh....obviously you dont find that the case! to complete your bag i would have to say...... 1..for a 3 wood go for the tourstage xst, this with the stock shaft or the nippon works a dream...it very easy to work and produces a nice high trajectory....that doesnt seem to ballon! 2. for a putter it really is down to your eye, but i would highly recommend the gauge design m4 pro request putter chris has! i got one in the other day and im still astonished by the feel and roll! mallet would not be my first choice however i think il be using this one for a while yet! if you cant stand mallets then ity is a must, to try the one or the balde.....I used to be a cameron lover, but ever since trying gauge ....im hooked!

NakedDave
Can you give us an idea how the I-505 compare to the I-302 or I-404 in regards to size? I have heard that the I-505 are on the small side, much like the I-404. From appearances, the I-505 favor the TourStage X-Blade CBs.
+TourSpecGolfer
I think the problem you are having with the ball flight is due to the shaft you are using. They are known to balloon the ball and you probably over power that shaft. I don't recommend the 1050 yet I do recommend the 1150, Its a tad heaver and gets up quick but levels out at the top preventing the balloon. I know its not the design of the head that is causing you this problem.

I would definitely agree with the 1150 but if you want to maintain a lightweight feel to the shaft, the 1050s are not bad as well. Thanks for the review on the i505s. If only they'd custom install NS 1150s at the factory I would already have a set!
