does anyone know if there is a difference? I thought maybe the 506 were a North American model number, but I see when doing a search that there are alot of Asian sites with this number as well. Unfortunately I cannot read the sites.

The Japan version is the 505 which features a tungsten composite in the long to mid irons and a better shape overall.

The U.S and Euro version is the 506, which doesn't look nearly as good and doesn't hold the same resale value as the 505 does.

Both sets are made in Japan with great quality control.

Ah yes, the 506's don't mention tungsten weights, and while the pictures are hard to tell, the 505's do seem to look real nice.

So for a guy who shoots in the 82-85 range playing only 12 times last year (this will get fixed this year!) I am looking for a certain amount of pick it up and hit up, type club, yet still want to have the feel and feedback to improve while practicing (which I do alot), and be able to work the ball. So what might be the best solution, Gauge Design NC-1, Srixon i-505, Tourstage X-blade CB 2?

I should mention that in the past it has been my short game costing me 5-6 shots per round. Worked real hard on that this summer, and with my new GD GAS 1SQBTs, and new GD crafting edition "the One" putter I am looking to a great new season. also swing speed with driver is about 95, 5 iron about 86.

feedback, thoughts anyone?
