So far we only know about a handful of new releases by Callaway Japan. The 2 new drivers we know about are the X-18 CF ( carbon crown conforming model ) and the ERC HOT "TOUR".

The ERC HOT Tour features a heavier swing weight achieved by a heavier head at D2.5 - D3 standard, a USGA legal C.O.R of .083, neutral weighting and a square face angle. Only available in 8* and 9*.

Callaway really are going tour mad this year! I think they need to increase the headweight on their drivers anyway, as when you swing an ft3 etc from off the rack, you have no sensation of the head.

from hitting the ERC HOT would even consider giving this a try chris?

I wouldn't be playing the tour model because a slightly closed face actually helps me and the non conforming aspect thrills me. Its a good driver, very long but the sound and feel just doesn't do it for me. Its a bit louder than the FT-3.

So the ERC Hot has an all titanium head w/ no carbon fiber right? What is the COR rating on the non-conforming version going to be?

The ERC Hot is very similar to the FT-3, It has the carbon head which explains the akward sound it gives off. The non conforming version has been out for most of the year. The conforming version is going to be released Jan 06. Don't know the exact C.O.R ratings sorry.

Not a problem, I was just curious.
