taipanli
Borrowed Aluniser's set of Gauge Design MB2s shafted with NS1150 X-stiffs. Played one round with them and must say I'm quite impressed. Sets up nicely even though the cutaway topline seemed a little odd in the shop. Finish is superb and the "blade" is very classy. Hit a lot of great shots with them. Nice boring trajectory (of course partly due to the 1150 Xs). Ball held its line very well on a windy day. I noticed the grooves are distinctly sharper than on the MP60s I had been playing. The sole grind glides through the turf with no effort at all. Had a couple chips with the PW and distance control was very good. They're a tad harder than the MP60s but still feel very nice. I love the satin finish which is more durable than regular forged chrome. Keeping the ball lower was no problem and distances were very consistent. The long irons were easy to hit as well. Not much to add after one round but I am impressed. I have a set of G Field NC-1s on the way and if they're even better than the MB2s as some people say, I'll be set for a while... Anyone who might be skeptical about Gauge irons can rest assured that these are the real deal. Overall quality and feel of these irons remind me of Tourstage irons and they might actually even be better imo. As Chris can attest, I had been very reluctant to purchase any Gauge irons since I had doubts that a putter/wedge specialist could design and build irons to match the quality of those from the big Japan OEMs. I was wrong and am now sold on GD/GF irons. If they play their cards right, the brand could make a big impact outside of Japan in the future :tsg_smiley_yes: Edited January 21, 2006 by taipanli

Aluinser
After reading this review, seems that I really shouldn't be selling them...... :tsg_smiley_yes:
