Posted January 22, 200619 yr comment_113719 My friend in Thailand has a J33 P 8.5* Tour on it's way to him 200 grm head. He is going to have a GD PM 702 S flex fitted to it. He does not have much confidence in the clubmakers over there and wants tipping advice. The Build to Frequency is 6.7. or 250 CPMs at 45" and 254 CPMs at 44.5" How much should the GD PM 702 be tipped?

You don't have a shaft fitted to a head...you have the shaft AND head fitted to the player. Or maybe I misunderstand the question?
January 22, 200619 yr comment_113785 Nice shaft :tsg_smiley_yes: I have one tipped 3/4 inch in a TP R7 tour shallow and I like it a lot. Lowered ballflight for me as thats why I put it in.

Couldn't have said it any better. I think the focus is on obtaining a specific number rather than properly fitting the player with the head and shaft. However, it sounds like he may have a hard time finding a competent clubmaker that he can trust, so maybe this is the only way he feels comfortable. With that in mind, how long does your friend want his driver 44.5" or 45". With all of the PM's I've installed, I think I've only tipped one and it was for a guy who wanted it to play a tad stiffer so I took off 1/4".
