Those are very nice looking putters, especially the 001.

Totally agree. Mine have been in the bag for the last two seasons and she's not coming out any time soon.

TSG JDM Forged Players CavityBack-test 2008 !
acrazygolfer replied to ClubHoUno's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It has to be either Palm Srpings or Vegas. I checked two years ago and it is not a problem getting a grass range to ourselves for a few hours to test clubs and then a round later and another round the next day. I think the prices are lower starting June 1st, both in Vegas and Palm Springs. -
Hot diggity dog! This is a must have toy for the indoor driving range.

Best wishes to you and the wife. Adoption has to be the most fun and fullfilling part of my job (I review the final papers approving the adoption giving the adopting parents all the legal rights and obligations as if they are the biological parents), especially when you know there is a bright future ahead for him/her.

PM Chris to see if he can locate one for you. The "stock" Diamana shaft is "junk!" I'd mine pulled and replaced it with a GD AD 65 - low spin and low launch. Bomber of a driver ... just too bad it's non-conforming. There are a few Tour version heads(conforming) floating around and I've been looking for one for quite a few years now.

What does "Studio" imply in the lexicon of Gauge Design
acrazygolfer replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
After playing with the MB for the last 8 months, I played one round with the NC-1s and went right back to the MB. They are very forgiving and soft ... and sooo beautiful. -
PM Taipanli, he has a set available.

What is the current flex of the shaft and to fit what SS?

I have a tour scotty and the cover is crappy versus the Comocome snowflake cover.

Please add pictures of all items listed.

Republican or Democrat? I'm talking Head Covers!
acrazygolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
With the Republican cover, I'd feel "at home" when playing in South OC (Orange County), California. BTW, the magnetic closure is wonderful, much better than the velcro. -
I'm taken that you don't like the QT. Axiv V-spec is awesome!

TourStage X-Drive 460 with AXIV 6068M
acrazygolfer replied to Backspin9's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The X-drive/Axiv combo is a great combo. For my SS profile (high ball & high spin 105 mph), the J33r 10.5* and the x-drive 10.5* w/the same Axiv model (6568H) are pretty much the same - lower ball flight w/more roll than other 10.5* drivers (name the company). The J33r is just a tad more solid at impact than the X-drive while the X-drive is a tad more foregiveness than the J33r. I feel bad for you because it's a pain in the @$$ to have to decide which of the two drivers to bring to the course. -
The screw came loose or out was most likely due to the vibration from impact and the coarse thread pattern. If you don't want to use a drop of superglue, try blue loctite (or even purple loctite), which has moderate strenght so the screw can be removed without heat.

How do you know whether to butt trim or tip trim a shaft?
acrazygolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Good question. I don't know of a specific shaft that cannot be tip trimmed. -
How do you know whether to butt trim or tip trim a shaft?
acrazygolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
If you like the shaft "as it" then butt trim to playing lenght after installation. Tip trimming is similar to "fine tuning" an engine, making it plays to its maximum potential based on your swing characteristics. You must also take into consideration the depth of the hosel and the depth of installation of the tip into the hosel. Here is an example - I've an SR flex shaft tipped 1/4", installed 1" into the hosel & played at 44 1/4", the head weights 200 grams. It played a bit soft to my 105 mph SS. I then had the same shaft installed 1 1/2" deep into a 200 grams head, then extending the butt and trimmed to 44 1/2", the club now plays much better and I'm getting better results. Spoon, install the shaft before adding extension and then butt trim. Use graphite extension available at GolfSmith, Golfworks, etc. -
Nippon Shafts vs. True Temper Tour Concept
acrazygolfer replied to mauiatheart's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I've the 1150GH Tour in the GD NC-1s and TC S3 in the GD MBs. The S3 is a few grams heavier. Feel on both are almost the same. Ball flight with the S3 is a bit flatter. As for distance, the S3 is about 5-7 yards longer (152 versus 145/146). For unknown reason(s), I pulled/hooked the S3 more than the 1150 ... may be due to flatter ball flight. Both are wonderful shafts. Black/Gold is the next shaft I want to try. -
Carl, I don't think lightweight iron shaft is a good choice simply because the premise behind lighter shafts is to allow golfers to swing faster, thus longer shots. I'd rather see you stretch before, during and after each round to keep the back from flaring. Not using driver and played in the high 70s, your short game is outstanding.

Just simply beautiful! -
I've Cswing. You also need a video camera with a sport setting so that you can view your swing in sloooow motion. If you intend to bring the computer to the range, you'd need a hood to view the screen out in bright light.
