  1. OnOff drivers definitely need to be reshafted by someone who has the replacement ferrules and special care. Find a trained clubfitter is my recomendation
  2. I don't know if this holds true for the drivers that you are looking at, but I remember that the SMT 455 had no score lines and the explaination on their website was that the score lines weakened the face.
  3. If you can get your hands on the 247s, I would suggest that you do. These are by far the best clubs that I have hit. They replaced a set that I thought would never leave my bag, at least for a couple of years. I was playing the Miura Tournament Blades, but after getting these beauties, the blades were immediately replaced. If possible, the 247s are an even softer Miura forging than the Tournament Blades. And since they are a player's cavity back, gave me that forgiveness that I have been lacking in the blade. My set of 247s are from the tour van, but my understanding is that the only difference from the standard 247 is a slightly altered grind. Go for the On Offs, you won't be disappointed.
  4. I haven't hit the Fourteens. But the Chikara's are outstanding. The grind makes it so easy to open up the face if you want. The spin that it puts on the ball is like nothing I have experienced. Quality stuff. Well worth the money.
  5. This is the correct URL - http://golf wrx/BagChatter/2007/10/...ra-golf-part-1/
  6. Clean looking club as I would expect from RC. The face looks a little closed in the top down picture. Can someone verify.
  7. The finish is great. Is this a fade bias driver like the 430P and the 460P? If so is the bias aimed in between or is it severe like the 460P?
  8. The Yururi Raw 57 that I have is fantastic. Great from the day I put it in my bag. It is so versitile that I have removed my MPR 52 as I just don't hit it any more. I would love to try the Chikara 57, but can't justify buying a new one when I like the Yururi so much. Great looks, great feel, and lots of spin.
  9. I see a lot of talk about GD, G Field, Miura, Tourstage and Epon to name a few, but very little about Honma. What's the reason for this? Are they too expensive? Or are the other brands that much better? Just wondering.
  10. Anyone compare the True Temper Tour Concepts to the Nippons? I have a set of Miura Tournament Blades with the Tour Concept shafts and was thinking about changing them out. No particular reason, I just see that a lot of people are using the Nippons and thought it may be a good idea to take them for a spin. Any feedback would be great since the shafts are not cheap. Thanks.
  11. I am looking for a new 4 or 5 wood with a square face at address. Most of the US market woods have closed faces, which does not help my right to left ball flight. I am constantly fighting a huge hook with my current 5 wood. I was looking at the Epon, Tourstage and the G-Field. Anyone have any info?
  12. I am a blade guy, but I have to agree, those are not very pretty.
  13. Got out on the course today. No warm up balls, straight to the first tee. The 460P straightened out the strong draw (hook). Now a gentle draw. Unless I panty out and don't swing at the ball. If I don't put a decent swing, the ball fades. All in all a good pickup. Hope the honeymoon doesn't end soon.
  14. I agree. I put one of these on my Del Mar 3.5 and I just can't get used to the feel. I changed back to the standard steel shaft after a couple of rounds. Very disappointed due to the high cost of the shaft.
