Back Problems/Tightness!!
May or may not work for you but these are the stretches that I do before, during and after a round: stretching the hamstrings by slowly bending forward and down, with both legs (knees bending slightly) close together toes pointing straight or near straight head, until the fingers reach (or reaching) the toes ... then slowly release; (2) same exercise but with legs crossing each other and repeat for the side; (3) inter-locking the fingers and placed them behind the back of the head with elbow pointing straight ahead, then slowly move the arms/elbows back so they are near parallel to the shoulder line; (4) place a 3i on the upper back and twist the torso from side to side. At the end of each movement, hold that position for at least 20 seconds before releasing it. Note: please do each movement SLOWLY as the benefits come from the slow movement and remember to BREATH SLOWLY AND DEEPLY. Deep breathing is almost like hyperventilation and it takes lot of practices to do it correctly.

Tourstage 2007 X-Drive, Epon 460, or J33R 460 ?
The Epon came today. 460cc, 10.5*, .5* open, Axiv V-7068 Mid/High (which is a SR flex), D2 at 44.5". I love Axiv and have been using Axiv (6568H) in a J33r 460 10.5* and in a Srixon W-505 9.5* for the last year or so. Comparing the Axiv 6568H again the Axiv V-7068, the 7068 fits even better to my swing profile (high ball flight, a bit jerky from the top & a hooker) than the 6568 when it comes to feels and control. Given the 7068 is a SR flex versus the S flex in the 6568, there is more "kick" in the 7068 than the 6568. Dispersion is tight with both shafts and both are anti-left. I wanted "S" flex Axiv V but Chris suggested the SR flex and HE WAS RIGHT ON! Many thanks. As for the Epon, WOW! I was afraid the 10.5* would be too high but it's not. Ball flight with the Epon is not any higher than the J33r. The Epon sounds louder than the J33r (muted sound for the J33r which I like). As for feel, the Epon is just softer than the J33r but not "noodle" like soft (I do like Top Ramen since I survived grad school on them). As for foregiveness, the Epon gets a plus over the J33r due to the Epon being a deeper face driver. Minimal lost in distance & dispersion with the Epon than the J33r with less-than-good swing. In other words, the J33r is a bit more demanding. As for distance, since I was hitting cheap and exhausted range balls, I'll get back to you guys within the next few days on this issue (so far both drivers were side-by-side with these cheap range balls). Overall, the Epon is ahead of the J33r, in my opinion, due to: (1) the Axiv V and (2) forgiveness. I told myself no new (used) irons this season but then a set of GD Milled MBs is calling out my name.

Epon Iron Classification Clarification
I see that the brands of choice are: Epon, Tourstage and GD. Have you hit the Milled MBs? If yes, is the S even softer than the Milled MB? I tried the Milled MBs this past weekend and it was "butta."

Pics of a Very Fake Scotty Putter!
My uneducated guess: Not a Scotty at all but another brand with the bottom completely sanded off of the marking, logo, etc. Why? Am a bit puzzled by the shape of the heel of this putter since the Newport and Newport 2 are both more angular at the top of the heel before being rounded off. It could be the angle of the camera when the pictures were taken. Scotty is a perfectionist and here: (1) the Circle T is too close to the word Titleist; (2) the spacing between the letters is not consistant; (3) the letters, especially the connector between the letters i, t, l, e, i and s, appear jerky and not smooth; (4) the letters l and e do not "flow" together and the l slants away from the e instead of toward the e; and (5) the words Scotty Cameron are out of proportion. I've seen a few putters with the stamping "Scotty Cameron" vertically below the neck but not one with the Circle T at that location. All the ones I have seen are red dots.

A Quick Preview of ComoCome! 2007
- WTB: Bushnell 1500 pinseeker rangefinder
The GSTour must be an independently ran tour with no affiliation with the USGA. I recently "hacked" in a local tournament ran by the SCGA (So. Cal. Golf Association) and we were allowed to use measuring devices for distance only. Devices with slope adjustment were banned. However, I think you can use the devices w/slope adjustment during the practice rounds and for those rounds when score is not to be posted. I'm going to email the SCGA tomorrow for answer regarding using the slope adjustment device during the practice rounds.- Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Amazing results. I like the bend profile of the Avix and Roddio. It appears the PT-6 and the Riddio have similar bend profile but the tester was able to achieve better distance with the Riddio (by 12.5 yards) due to the 3* higher launch angle and better back spin rate. It's interesting that the PT-6 launched at the lower angle and yet its backspin was over 1000 rpm more. The Roddio indeeds one @$ kicking shaft for this tester. I'd most likely need to tip the Roddio between 1/4 to 1/2 inch to get good results, just by looking at the data. Why the bend profile of all the Roddio are mid?- My bag
Beautiful Traditional. Scratch wedges are, IMO, the best in the wedge business. Nice bag!- Is Jack going soft??
Gentlemen ... could it simply be that the bifocal is playing tricks on us as we get older and therefore the clubhead appears smaller. I'm holding in my left hand the NC-1 3 iron and up close and personal, that thing is huge. Just kidding, Jack! You are indeed correct, the NC-1s are a tad compact and it's "butter" when hit on the sweet spot.- Adams Idea Pro 5-pw, 3&4 pro hybrids

acrazygolfer posted a post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearA stranger was seated next to Little Payton on the plane when the stranger turned to the little girl and said "Let's talk. I heard that flights will go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passengers." Little Payton, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger "What would you like to discuss?" "Oh, I don't know." said the stranger, and then thinking he would have some fun at Payton's expense said, "How about the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear power?" "OK," said Payton, "that could be an interesting topic, but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same grass yet the deer excretes little pellets, while the cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?" "Jeez," said the stranger. "I have no idea."! "Well then," said little Payton, "How is it that you feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know sh*t?"- Shaft Fitting Help Needed
Better only if the shaft is right for your swing profile. The 6568 is 66 grams.- Shaft Fitting Help Needed
The simple answer is yes. However, it can be expensive looking for the "right" shaft. For example, I call do a straight installation of the Axiv 6568H (no tipping & butt trim to lenght) and obtain great results. On the other hand, the GD I-65 needs 1/4" tipping.- Shaft Fitting Help Needed
Intimate - knowing your swing profile. According to Harrison, the Harrison Pro 2.5SL is a low torque shaft. If you obtained great results with this shaft in the past, why not give it a try in the 460cc head.- Shaft Fitting Help Needed
Ballooning - hitting into a head wind or hitting with too much backspin. With too much backspin, the ball reached its apex and then falling with no roll or with minimal roll. The combination of clubhead design and ball can also create excessive backspin. Before changing shaft, see if another brand and/or model of golf ball is better suited for you with the current driver. After experimenting with different balls and you still want to change shaft, here are few things to remember: Torque - the twisting of the clubhead at impact. Large (460cc) head tends to twist more than smaller heads of past years. Aggressive swingers required lower torque shaft of 3.5 or less while smooth swingers required torque between 3.5 and 5.0. 5.0 and higher torque are for seniors and women. A "boardie" club is one with a combination of low torque and stiff flex. Flex - the bending property of a club shaft with applied forces. An aggressive swinger applies more forces to the shaft than a smooth swinger. Incorrect flex caused the face to be opened or closed at impact and thus affect the accuracy, trajectory and distance of the ball. Too stiff may result in lower ball flight while too soft may result in higher ball flight, and also left or right ball flight. Kickpoint - a point in the shaft with the greatest bend. Low KP shaft bends near the clubhead. High KP shaft bends near the grip. Players in need of getting the ball into the air are better fitted with low KP shaft while players tending to hit high ball are better fitted with high KP shaft. Weight - shaft weight is a factor when it comes to the over-all weights of the club. The others are clubhead and grip. The lighter the total weight, the higher the swing speed that can be generated. Swingweight - is nothing more than the feel of the club when swung. A hard swinger needs heavier SW while a smooth swinger can get away with lower SW. A0 is the lightest and G10 is the heaviest. The standard for OTR is about D-0 to D-2. Tipping - think of fine tuning. It is the cutting off of the tip of the shaft. A good example is a player playing between a stiff and X-stiff. Generally, trimming the tip about 1/2 inch from the stiff shaft turns it into an almost X-stiff. Other considerations: the insertion depth of the shaft into the head. Take two same shafts. Install one 1 1/4 inch deep in a standard bore head and the other 2 1/4 inches deep in a bore-through head. The bore-through club will play stiffer. There are just too many good shafts to recommend one. Also, not seeing your swing, it's a disservice for me to recommend a shaft to you, especially when the shafts are $150 plus. Most members here are very intimate with their swing profile and thus can purchase an expensive shaft from Chris aka Tourspecgolfer without problems. I don't know how intimate you are with your swing so the best recommendation is for you to visit a clubfitter with launch monitor and video. Best regards.- Shaft Fitting Help Needed
According to Cobra, the HS series, particularly the X & F models, are low to mid spin w/high launch, ever considering switching to a mid-spin low launch head? What shaft is curently in play? If not stock, any tipping? With an avg. SS of 105mph, what are the reasons why you want a shaft less than 60 grams? Is your swing similar to Freddie or Ernie? Two smooth operators on tour? Do you release early/late? In your opinion, what is ballooning?- 2004 RAC CBs Tour Issue MIURA forged

Add the Tour Zero to complete the GD line.- Removing Baby Ben center shaft
Unlike the SC Futura which has a pin in it, there is no pin in the baby bee so removing the shaft with the heat gun at low temp is not a problem. I done it to a proto bee center shaft before. The problem lies with trimming from 34 to 32, the tip may be too big to fit into the hole. 380 minus 336 is 44 grams. Here is the good part, the BHB9 is going for cheap, as low as $50, so if you run into problem it is a cheap experiment. Any good club repair guy can get the grip off in 2 seconds with a needle and a compressor to save the grip. You can also use the blade type grip removal from golfsmith.- Removing Baby Ben center shaft
Are you looking to cut or add to the shaft? Are you looking to add weight to the head? The BHB9 is 336 grams and you can add weight to it by adding soft lead putty (Home Depot, etc.) to the bee hives. - WTB: Bushnell 1500 pinseeker rangefinder
