pucci
I have a 9degree tourstage xdrive 325 prospec, I would love to try and make it a 7 degree club (to see what would happen!) Is it possible to do this - how would it be done? thanks in advance for any help!

Usually you don't want to bend woods more than 1 or 2* at the risk of breaking so make sure you check with Tourstage/Bridgstone and see what the tolerance is. Also, before you do anything, make sure and have the loft professionally measured. Again with the tolerances, a 9* driver could in reality be any where from 7* to 11* with a +/- tolerance of 2*. Lowpro
do not recomend bending a driver that much.. try a lower lofted driver 1st.. not an easy process and bending back and forth will weaken the metal.. just my opion.. NickBooras
I don't have much experience bending woods, but I'll give you my $0.02. To bend a wood it must have a long hosel - obviously you're not going to "bend" any Callaways, and if you bend a Titleist, you might not be able to feed the shaft all the way through the head for the bore-thru. Bending titanium is going to be difficult if not impossible. It's my understanding that it cannot be done, but Joe Kwok may have a better understanding. Also, I am under the impression that bending the loft of a metal wood will also adjust the face angle. For every 1 degree you subtract from the loft you will also close the face by 1 degree. Again, I have VERY limited experience with this, so someone may correct me if I'm wrong...
the1stunner
The only drivers I have seen bent are the Taylormade 300df, R5 & R7. These were done by the tour department for a staff player, it was a 10.5 bent 2* open & 1/2 weak, to play at 9*. Let me get this straight you want to f*** up a x drive just to see what happens? You will hit it d**k high, and cut about 30 yards off your driving distance. There is a reason 90% of tour players are going to about a 10* driver not the other way around. Guys like you make me laugh "Oh tiger plays a 6.5* 975D with a tipped X100, I better play a 6.5*" :tsg_smilie_cool: leave it alone. I understand that it is tempting to play what the pros play, but Michael Jordan wore air Jordans. If you wear Jordans you are still going to have that 4" vert.
