ckay
Right now I am playing a 553 X on my TP. I am looking for another shaft to mess around with on another TP head that I came across. I have a hookup here in the states that gets me Japan only Fujis and the like. He has a Matte Blue Diamana 53 X, which is apparently a prototype version of the shaft. Anyone familiar with that claim? Anyone play that shaft? I do remember when the Diamana leaked onto eBay, they were selling for 300+. Also, how does a 757 Speeder S, tipped an inch on an MP001 3 wood sound? Good choice? blee
If you are looking for a high performance shaft in the 50g range definately give the Diamana 53 Blue Board a try. Mitsubishi Rayon's vertical integration advantage gives them the ability to produce a high performance, ultra light weight shaft that no other manufacturer can replicate. ckay
Hey guys, thanks for the replies! I put a Speeder 553 Tour Spec x in my R5 TP. Tipped it an inch to get the frequency up to 288. I used to play a 296-300 shaft but I wanted something a tad softer, so I took 10 CPMs off of it. I noticed that I cannot tee it as I used to. I have to tee it a bit higher, and take an uppercut at it with this combo. I guess the kickpoint is a bit lower when tipping it so the only way I could make solid contact is to uppercut it. 268 was too soft for me so I had no choice. Anyway, what a great shaft. Oscillation with this shaft is not an issue whatsoever. I didn't gain much yardage from my old Purple Ice/983K combo, but the dispersion pattern is alot tighter. Maybe I can squeeze 10-15 out of her when it warms up here in NY. Right now, my distance is all carry since the fairways are wet and soft in the mornings. As far as my 3 wood...I shafted it with a V2 X. This one surprised me as far as performance. It is a great piece for the money. It is also a slick looking shaft! Consistent ball flight and easy to work the ball. Anyone looking to toy around should take a look at the UST V2. I also have the Matte Blue Diamana 53x. Paid 150 bux for it, 46" uncut. The price was too low to pass up on the deal. Now...if I can only find another R5 TP head for 150 dollars(like I did with the one with the Fuji in it)!
