I did a quick search under this thread and didn't come up with much. Is there no love for the 405? As the recent purchaser of one (thanks SteveO) and having never seen one in person; i'd love some quality (and postive :tsg_smilie_smile: )impressions.

As the proud owner of this club, I am thoroughly impressed with every characteristic this club has to offer. I have the Graphite Design M-65 Stiff in mine and it is a CANNON off the tee. I have messed around with the 435 and I really liked it, but for the price (about $350-$450 on Ebay) you can't beat the 405. This has that famous Tourstage thwack sound to it also. I love the sound of Tourstage clubs. The loft is also true to form which is nice in todays market of 9.5 really being 10.8. I can't stand that s**t. You will love this baby no doubt about it. If not, I could always use a backup!! Enjoy your new purchase!!

That's awesome news....now I'm even more psyched! My current gamer is a J33P Tour w/757, so I'm already sold on B'stone. I'm glad to hear that the Tourstage stuff is at least as good...

What the shaft like? I know it's a high end shaft, but I'm wandering how it plays and what it compares to.

So YOU'RE the guy that sent the paypal mere hours before I did for that 9.5...rat bastard!

:tsg_smilie_smile:

Good luck and enjoy the club! I was psyched once the paypal went through only to check my email to find that it was refunded, with bad news attached to it.

Can anyone compare the 405 and the 390 pro spec? I have the 390 ps. It's a back up that gets in the bag quite a bit. I found a 405 (not HR) with the TXD 65 for US$400 9/10. Is it that much more forgiving/longer at 15cc more?

Well, I had the 390 pro spec and the 340 X-Drive. The X's all feel similar - hot yet solid, although the 435 is the best IMO. For whatever it is worth, the 390 has much more of the Tourstage "thwack" sound than the X-Drives. In fact, I would argue the Xs don't have that at all, especially in comparision to the pro specs and the ultimate thwacker, the Maru 23 US spec. I would keep the 390 unless you were jumping up to the 435. Very solid and just as long.

I just came back from beating about 1,000 balls with the new stick. I've got to play a few rounds with it, but my initial impressions are very good. I'm used to playing a J33P w/ 757, and nothing even had a chance to knock it out. Nothing from Titleist or any of the B'stone J33R's. But I think with the right shaft this could be the gamer for a longtime.

I find the M65 too light and loose for my taste. Great feel, but probably b/c it's not stiff enough for me (look for it in the classifieds soon). But even with a shaft that doesn't suit me, I still got incredible distance, a reasonably good trajectory, and my misses were fantastic. Oh, and the feel was pretty damn solid too; about as solid and forgiving as I've played (I just can't get to a 460cc--too big for me).

In short, I'm very optimistic. With the right shaft, I think I've found a rocket launcher.
