  1. This overseas stuff rocks. Ready for some winter golf now :)
  2. Very high quality material. Lightweight yet very resistant and strong feeling. The details, like the buttons, zippers, collar linings, etc., all have cool Tourstage emblems and badging. As I said at the top, these are true "mediums" IMO. Some US mediums run rather large. I would say the sizing is very similar to Puma if you have tried those. I have a couple of medium Pumas and they fit the same. I went to the DWD website and might have my friend pick up a hybrid headcover for me. It is the only one in my bag right now that clashes. The putter cover is sweet.
  3. Here are a few shots. Nobody was home to help so the model shot is as good as it gets!! LOL.
  4. No worries, I snapped a few today and will add them tomorrow. The shirts really are amazing quality!
  5. Today I received a package from a friend who just returned from Japan. He has access to all of the premier brands, and all the current offerings. I went to the Tourstage catalog and picked out exactly what I wanted. I bought 7 shirts and a grey camo DWD headcover (to match my 909s). The quality of the shirts is amazing. I am a huge zip up mock guy, and nobody does it better than Tourstage. If anyone is interested in live pics I'm happy to snap some. I can definitely report that, specific to Tourstage, a size "medium" is very similar to a normal US medium. I find brands like Adidas and Calloway run large though, so in those brands a small fits me better. The shirts are athletic cut and definitely not made for plump people though; I work out frequently and they look perfect. The DWD cover has a strong magnetic clasp, and the texture of the exterior material is very durable and should hold up well. I am happy to see TSG will now be carrying the gear; it is really first rate.
  6. Hi Chris, hope all is well. Black watches used to be my weakness until The Survivor came along, and now it is my only one. Lot less in USD, and what is crazier is that it sells for well over retail. Lots to choose from nowadays in all price ranges. Panerai's ceramic 292 Blackseal is awesome. Ulysse Nardin has an affordable new "Black Ocean" Diver coming. But the Survivor trumps them all, especially if you are a guns and weapons fan, which I am. I bought my first AP about 6 or 7 years ago, and over time became friendly with some of the brand management here in the US. They are among the best watches in the world without question. I was invited a year ago to the event they held at Tunberry Isle in Aventura, FL. What a course that is. I guess the answer to the question is you have to have done more business with them than just one watch at a dealer. Your are supposed to be around a 10 handicap or better. I am about a 12 (I only play about 10 times a year which, as you can imagine, is rather frustrating, but I'm working on it). I am fortunate to have played around my number in the two events. The guys are super friendly. Vijay is so misunderstood; he is as nice as they come. In the last round I was about to hit a 9 iron punch uphill and Thomas said "freeze!". He walked over and while still in my address pushed my shoulders with two hands and almost knocked me on my ass! It was a downhill lie and I was trying not to get too far over the ball but obviously was not forward enough. He also showed us a trick I could not believe, if I can master it I'll take a picture but don't hold your breath. I cannot tell you how happy I was for Thomas to grab another win, and incidentally, he became the winningest French born golfer by doing so (5 titles). I'll add some other pics if you like. I posted my old TS staff bag for sale a month ago or so because I sourced a killer AP / Mizuno staff bag a year ago. Watches and golf... my favorite things
  7. Well I can't comment on his bag, but I can most definitley tell you what is on his wrist... Audemars Piguet! He was signed as a brand Ambassador about a month ago, joining Vijay Singh, Thomas Levet (winner of the 2009 Spanish Open), and others. I hope to meet and maybe play with him at some point. Two years in a row I have gone out w/ Vijay and Thomas, most recently at Sawgrass in April. The guys are super cool, all wear AP, and obviously play like MUTHAS. Levet was stone cold during our round, and was very confident heading into the Spanish Open. I knew he would do well. Here are a few pics from our last tourney and my favorite AP, the limited edition Survivor.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I am a S/M in US stuff, so I think a medium Tourstage will work. Appreciate the input. So as for the driver, do you and Chris have an allotment for us or are yours already sold too? I just stumbled across it last night and it looks great. Thanks mate!
  9. Is the 701R coming to the pro shop soon? Looks fantastic. Also, specific to Tourstage branded shirts, how far off is the sizing in Japan from a typical US shirt? Most of our stuff can run large, and I think it is the opposite overseas. A friend is visiting Japan soon and is going to bring me back a shirt and I am wondering what size to go for.
  10. I have had this bag for several years - maybe 4 or 5, dating back to when the Z101s and MR23s were being produced. It has never been outside, and sat for a brief period in my office to hold extra clubs. So aside from being a little dusty it is 100% brand new. Includes a large hood cover. Many pockets, Tourstage plastic and metal zippers, hip pad, logos, umbrella sleeve, etc. IMO the quality is as good if not better than anything else I have seen. Very heavy duty and well made. I am only selling it as two years ago a company I work with gave me a logo bag of theirs by Mizuno that I now keep in the office. The Tourstage bag is much better quality and deserves a good owner who will get it on the course, where it belongs. Price shipped to US destinations is now only $275!!. This bag is a real collector's item and surely comparable to Tourstage's current models. I used to be more active here at TSG, and in the past sold to numerous happy friends here. Paypal OK and preferred for this transaction. Feel free to email me direct at [email protected]. Thanks for looking
  11. Thanks guys... I have no need whatsoever for a new driver... but am thinking about it nonetheless!
  12. That putter sure looks nice in your avatar! I am through screwing around though. This year I have played w/ my Bettinardi Hello Ball Big Time. I got it as a practice putter, and it really has got me lined up. Didn't plan to use it this year, but until the last round it has been solid. However, last night I put the Gauge Design / Gold's factory SM490A back in the bag. Hammered a bucket into the crisp Colorado air (had our first frost last night) and then headed to the practice green. Forgot how sweet the SM490A felt. So soft, so nice on distance control. Still love Bettinardi DASS, but I am back in black for the rest of the year
  13. You got it my friend! The one par five I had a good look at the green in two I used my 5 and did find paydirt from about 230. I knew the 3 wood have been too long. The eagle putt was close - from 40' I missed the edge by 5" and rolled 6' by. Could not leave it short as I have never made one. Missed the bird... settled for par. Had another par 5 where my drive went so long I only needed 6 iron in. I know it about the putts. Two rounds before I had 28 total putts. It is usually one of the better parts of my game. But i will start mixing that 3 wood in more... it is very long and deadly accurate.
  14. My feelings about my Bridgestones / Tour Concepts are well know around here. I think they are simply the best irons I have ever hit, period. I was hitting them very well yesterday. I tried Guage NC1s & Miuras. These blow them away. My Z101s are my backup set and I would put those in front of most everything else too. Bridgestone FCBs are as good as it gets.
  15. The score of 92 is so horrible compared to how well I hit the driver and irons. 40 putt round. 8 - yes 8 - 3 putts. Argh!! My worst putting round possibly ever. Several horrible, horrible chips as well. But the driver and three wood were awesome. Hooked one drive when we were rushing to play through a group. Otherwise it was impeccable. Most drives were on the short grass or very close. Hard to say better than the X-Drive, but the .5 degree open face helped me play the right side more and I liked that option. Only teed off w/ the 3 wood once and just crushed it. Once again, HUGE thanks to Ajaykkr for the QT shaft recommendation. Just the best three wood I have ever hit. Now does Epon make putters too??? :)
  16. It has brother. And I do agree with your theory. That's why it was easiest to stick w/ the PT6... I knew exactly what I was getting in that regard. Looking forward to rounds w/ the Epon...
  17. Ajaykkr and IDrive I think you guys are definitely right. Playing w/ a club is very different than pounding it on the range for a while. The Epon is in the bag for the remainder of this year's rounds. I have only played 6 times this year but hope to get out as much as possible the next few months. Love autumn golf. I surely am not at all disappointed w/ the Epon, and although I did not write it before I do sense more forgiveness. I hit one ball w/ it off the toe that just went dead straight. I think it will be a great performer for me in play. As for that three wood... whoa, nellie. I can't wait to start hitting it during play. I have not for the longest time. It was like playing w/ 13 clubs but still carrying 14! Cheers fellas...
  18. Ah heck, who was I fooling? I could not wait until the weekend after yesterday's debacle w/ the rain. So... left early again. Weather was great today. I'll cut to the chase. The Epon logo 460 driver is on the PT6, same as my beloved XD435. I have to say they are equally as long. The Epon feels more solid to me, and the Tourstage has a less distinctive feel at impact. Trajectory again is about the same. Perhaps I could make more specific comparisons if I threw down a few dozen brand new balls. But I cannot declare one better than the other after only one range session. But it does reaffirm to me that I have never hit a "better" driver than the XD435. As for the new AF-201 three wood, that is a different story. First off, big thanks to Ajaykkr for being the first to recommend to me to try the Quattro Tech. What a shaft. Finally, a three wood that I can hit with a great trajectory - shooting out low and climbing up with that nice little balloon at the end. Touches down soft. I rocked it off of a low tee, and after hitting one worm burner off the deck I dialed it in and crushed a few downtown. Every time I play and am needing a FW wood I pull the 5 as I am very consistent with it. But not anymore... at least when I need more distance. I was extremely straight with all of the shots, and for the first time I can see myself hitting the three off the teebox instead of driver, which I have never done before. Money well spent, especially on the three wood. It will make a positive difference in my game. And I'll continue to work the drivers and certainly play the Epon to see how I do with it in real action. Thanks again Chris!
  19. Thanks fellas... iDrive, I got the same PT6 I know and love in the driver, and based upon TSG recommendations got the Quattro Tech in the 3 wood. Just flexing it in my hands I really like that low bend. Should help me a lot! Spoon that was as close as I ever got without actually pulling the club. I have been rained out before but usually I stop before buying the bucket. B-X I don't mind the rain either, but the way the wind was gusting it was too much. I have actually played some of my very best golf in cold, rainy conditions for whatever reason. A few years ago we scrambled for my brother's wedding at his father-in-law's private club. It was high thirties and raining when we teed off. Played the whole front nine like that. Biggest issue was keeping the grips dry. My uncle and I, both 80s golfers, put up a minus 2 and took the prize, which was just the right to smack talk a bit :) One of my best rounds ever! Spoon wish I had one of those grips yesterday... the testing conditions were proper!
  20. So I left work one hour early today to race to the range. Got home, kissed the wife and kids, grabbed the bag, and headed out. Local course is only 5 minutes away. Half way there small droplets forming on the windshield. Not too bad... can still make it. Get there, buy the small bucket as it is not looking like there will be much time. Come out of the proshop and it is picking up. Walk to the range... windy as hell. Get the bag cover out and loosely set it over everything. Rain pelting now; no stretching time. Smack 4 PWs, three are perfect. Skip to my TM driver... tee up the first one and whack it hard into the wind. Tee up the second one and the wind blows it off! Put it back and nail a high fade and almost fall over in the process. Epon logo is up next, but I just can't do it. I believe the very first swing with a new club is paramount as to how the club will perform for you. You can't imagine my disappointment to not hit these new clubs, especially since I won't get back until Saturday. Oh well...
  21. You know it ID. If you check my specs I have been a TSGer for a wee bit longer than most, and I have come to expect this service from Chris. But this time he outdid himself!
  22. I ordered my new Epon driver and three wood just over a week ago. I even emailed Chris this morning asking for an update of when they would ship. Got the customary fast reply to the PM saying a few days more. Frickin' US mail just walked through my door w/ the unmistakable package we all love. Boo Yah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything is built to exact ordering specs, shrink wrapped, paperwork w/ all the details, and a few packs of Epon driver tees. Man, if everything were so easy!! The clubs look great. It is rainy here in Denver today but I GOTTA get out and give these a go. Absolutely beautiful golf clubs. Chris and Epon - thank you so much! First class service all the way
