  1. I will give as fair as an assessment as possible when my new logo arrives. It will be set up exactly as my XD435 on a stiff PT6. I don't drink the koolaid so to speak - if everyone tells me the Epon is the greatest thing in the world but I hit my Tourstage better then that is what I will play. I did try an Epon against the XD last year and my Tourstage was much better, but the Epon arrived on a stock Drev shaft which did not suit me. For the record, I hit the two clubs the same distance w/ range balls, but the Epon was erractic w/ that shaft. I did find the feel interesting - kind of spongy almost, like the ball stuck on the face a bit. But very solid. I will give a report in a few weeks after I have had a few chances to side by side the clubs.
  2. I am happy to hear that as I did confirm w/ Chris and changed to the Quattro. I am not sure how I missed it. I am very comfortable w/ driver off the tee box and seldom hit 3. For me it will be more of a fairway club and that low kick is perfect. I am a low ball hitter, and whenever I try the 3 it frequently results in low lasers. Good yardage, but not what I'm looking for. I am now very eager to get the QT. And big thanks to Ajaykkr for the sugguestion!!
  3. Thanks mate. I appreciated your input on the shaft selections. I PM'd Chris and am changing the FW to the Quattro... that lower kick will help off the mat no doubt. Love GD shafts, that's for sure!
  4. You know I just might do that... the low kick of the Quattro may do me more good than the mid of the PT7. But either way I love the profile of that 3 wood.
  5. I just ordered a new logo 460 on a PT6. This time the comparison to my beloved XD435 will be fair as the setups are identical. I also ordered a AF-201 on PT7, which I have always wanted to try in a FW as I love the 6 in the driver so much. Last year I tried an Epon on the stock Drev shaft, and while I was intrigued by the feel of the face, the shaft was nothing like the PT6. I thought about trying an Axiv or possibly Roddio, but this morning I went to the range and was just bombing w/ the XD and trusty backup R7TP / I65. Graphite Design Tour ADs just work for me. It was very refreshing after last week, when I played and hooked almosty every tee shot. My left hand had slowly crept out of whack and created too strong of a grip; put it back to a reasonable position and despite feeling awkward I was ripping the ball. Can't wait to get this new pair :)
  6. I had Joe build this three wood for me last year and I have hardly hit it. 15 degrees and square face angle. The paint and crown are perfect. Minimal markings on the face and sole from range balls; probably hit less than 40 balls w/ this club since I got it. Tremendously long and solid. Off a tee I hit it as far as my driver. Corded Golf Pride grip in mint condition, headcover is brand new. Retail for the club and shaft are well over $600, not including Master Kwok's work. I am reducing the price to $230 shipped and paypaled to US destinations. Thanks for looking :)
  7. There is no question that Bettinardi DASS putters are as fine as any in the world. I bought a Hello Ball Big Time in ice blue w/ yellow line (very limited piece). I got it mostly to practice with and make sure of my alingment (the face is very long). My bread and butter is my Golds / GD, but this year I have used the Bettinardi in all four of my rounds. It is amazing. Last week on two long par threes I landed 60' and 80' from the pins. I put each of the first puts to within 18". I also nailed a 20' putt to save a bogey. I have never been so good on long putts. I think the HBBT makes alignment super easy, which is helping me hit my lines from afar and not magnify an error. But I digress a bit. The feel of the DASS is very unique. Definitely firmer than the G/GD, but soft at the same time. Distance control is fantastic. Love it.
  8. No doubt the look is not for everyone, but I imagine they feel great. Saturday night I picked up a new Burner TP 14.5 fairway wood on the stock shaft. Played only my 4th round this year :( but LOVED that club. The three wood is the one piece I have not been able to settle on, but hopefully this is it. Hit it once off the box and once off the mat and it was perfect each time. Looking forward to a range session. BTW, according to the shaft sticker, "head made in China, shaft made in China, assembled in USA". And you know what? It is solid as a rock :)

I had the way cool Gauge Design black staff bag from 2 years ago. I am looking for some pics to add. Honestly, the quality was not as nice and did not feel as durable as my Tourstage staff bag, so I sold it here but cannot remember to whom. Awesome looking bag w/ lots of calipers on it. I will search for the pics...
  10. This is a bit off-topic, but since there are a few other watchnuts here, I wanted to add the following pictures. The case of this new watch is actually made of "forged carbon", a complete first for a watch case material. It is said to be extremely light and very durable. This specific piece was made for the Swiss boat racing team "Alinghi" (of which Audemars Piguet is a chief sponsor). Alinghi is the Defender of the 2007 America's Cup which is being currently held in Valencia, Spain. One country will emerge as the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup and become the Challenger for July's final. Anyways, hope you enjoy.
  11. Final price drop to $260 shipped and paypaled to US destinations.
  12. Sorry Snipe... just got online. This one is the first R7; 400cc.
  13. Another price drop... $315 shipped and paypaled!
  14. .83; USGA conforming.
  15. Reduced to $375!!
  16. OK gents, two years ago a very respected member bought this club direct from Chris. He hit a handful of balls w/ it and I bought it from him. It served me less than one season (maybe 5 rounds) as I later changed to the XD435. The original magnetic headcover was never used and thus is brand new. I never even changed the weights once I set it up. Comes w/ the extra weight kit and setting wheel. Outsanding condition; very minor wear on sole. Paint is perfect. Graphite Design I65 in stiff flex was assembled by TM at factory. Face angle is dead square and length is 44.5". I don't believe I have ever seen this exact club listed anywhere before. I am asking $475 shipped and paypaled to US destinations only. Numerous fellow TSGers will vouch for me if you need references. Thanks for looking :)
  17. Last year I bought a 460 Epon as I could not resist all the hype. I got mine on the stock Drev shaft which honestly felt nice and very playable. Head to head w/ my XD435, distance was a wash. But for what I like at impact, the X-Drive remains the best driver I have ever hit. I know the masses prefer the Epon, but the Tourstage feels more solid to me. Makes a nicer sound too. The Epon felt muted. Not mushy, but I remember crushing a few that just did not feel right and I couldn't believe how nice they traveled. So I did not care for the feedback. Last month I added a X-Drive 460 w/ the same loft and shaft as my 435, and look forward to finally transitioning to a 460cc club (still snow on the course, so I am hoping to start swinging in April). Lastly, a word about "forgiveness". This buzz word comes up in practically every club discussion, and I guess deservedly so. I like to know I am hitting the ball correctly, and that the club is not always saving me. My best rounds ever are not always the ones where I scored the lowest, but when I hit the ball the best. Sure, those two like to go hand in hand, but I have had rounds 6-8 shots off my low of 81 where I could not have been happier. So I personally feel too much forgiveness is no good. The clubs made today - especially the ones most of us are playing - seem to be vastly superior as a whole to what was out 10 years ago. I feel it is splitting hairs to declare one better than the other, and as IDrive said, the shaft is of utmost importance.
  18. I grew up in Boston and moved when I was almost 10. Have a ball signed by Yaz that was a birthday present. Very happy to live in Colorado USA, but Boston will always be the greatest city in the world to me :)
  19. Funny... not for me. Got a Papelbon t-shirt last year from a friend; got an old Jim Rice jersey somewhere. And of course some 2004 championship gear... at 32, I couldn't take the chance of waiting another 86 years!
  20. HUGE RedSox fan here. I was viewing some spring training photos and saw a great shot of DiceK in his backswing. Definitely an X-Drive; not sure which one. Two of may favorite things uniting... Tourstage and the RedSox!!
  21. Just to add I am not sure if the Bridgestones are Endo forged, I just know they are superbly made and feel great. As for the shafts the key is of course finding what suits your swing. For me, the TCs are perfect, and I would agree that the shaft can obviously change the feel of the club.
  22. Well, I bought the NC1s and had them shafted on satin Tour Concepts by Joe Kwok. As I was not enamored with them I had the identical shafts put into the Bridgestones to the exact same specs. I don't care where they are made, who made them, what kind of steel was used; the Bridgestones w/ the same exact shaft and setup is in an entirely different league. I would bet if you hit them side by side as I did you would agree. Then again, if you shank a lot you are pretty far from the sweetspot so it may be tough for you to tell. I am a consistent ball striker w/ my irons and the differences are very obvious in terms of feel.
  23. Well, I have not hit the Epons, but have hit the NC1s. I'll be honest; the NC1s are nice, but I would put them squarely behind my backup set of Z101s and not even in the conversation w/ what I now play, Bridgestone FCBs. I found the feel to be very muted. Soft, yes, but clunky at the same time. No feedback. Given that, I suspect the Epons are a better choice.
  24. Well, I broke down and ordered a 460 on PT6. Played the 435 / PT6 last year and it is my favorite driver to date. The shaft suits my swing extrememly well. So, I had to try the 460... Sadly, it will be a looooooooooooooong time before I get to hit it. Colorado is having a crazy winter. We have received 60" of snow since mid December in my town; snowing again today w/ 3-6" possible. Most areas (like the local track) still have 2 feet of hard crusty snow. I shut it down over the winter anyways, but I do not anticipate playing until April or May. Oh well... at least the putting will be well practiced at that point!
