  1. Can't wait to get this one... the exact head shape I have been looking for. It will be interesting to compare against the SM490A.
  2. Awesome... now can you get it in a Tour One head?!?
  3. Sold! Thanks TSG!
  4. Final reduction to $105 shipped and paypaled!
  5. I got this from Chris a few months back and have never used it. It comes with the matching Gauge headcovers. I think retail is $375 + shipping; I will sell for $270 shipped and paypaled to US locations. Thanks to Jim for adding the pics!!

I agree. My R7TP was very muted as well. I had a Japanese one from Chris. Have to agree w/ FAQ... mine is the Japanese version on the GD I65 and it is not tinny at all. Very solid. Just noticed you play a Nak380. Can you compare against the TP? Thanks Sure... I have hit the R7 four times at the range but have yet to play a round with it. I have found it to be longer by 5-10 yards for me. I know it doesn't make sense - both club faces are .83 or so, but the I65 shaft seems to allow me to swing harder than the NV65 I have on the Nak. When I really go after the NV65 I get a bit quick and snap hook left. Slow it down a bit and it is long and straight. When I first got the R7 / I65, I thought it was way too whippy for a quick tempo. But there is something very special about the way the I65 loads, and I do not overpower it at all. I have not even fooled around with the weights in the R7. I have it set neutral but heavy (30 grams) and it seems very easy at the range to get into the zone with it. But the Nak is a sensational club. I have easily had my best season off of the teebox, and I have hit many fairways with it. Hope to play a round with the R7 and then see, but long term as I improve I expect it to be my first driver.

  8. I don't swing particulary fast (100-105) and have 30 grams (6-10-8-6) with an I65 stiff and have had no problems (thanks Joe for the recommendation - still testing!). I am enjoying the heavier SW and have not really tinkered with it. I swing so easy and it goes very very straight - no hooks for me.

Well, I don't want to be the first to offer something "negative", but my 60* wedge just came loose from the shaft. I bought it from a very well respected TSG'er who hardly hit it, and I have only used it a little myself. I would never hit it off of a lie where it could get damaged; I think I just got a bad assembly. I did not contact Ari about it as I figured it was not worth the trouble to ship it somewhere. I had a local shop fix it. But other than that, the wedges are very solid feeling and I love them.

Same with the W404... the more loft, the more they close the face! I believe the 10.5 was 3 or 3.5 degrees closed. Maybe 2.5 closed for the 9.5. So, despite being a very nice looking head, I will not be getting one.
  11. I will start the "I respectfully disagree" opinion. First off, I would never mention this site in the same sentence w/ BSG. I created memberships at both sites about one year ago. I found BSG to be all about the owner. If you sold something he sold or mentioned a place to buy something cheaper than he sold it for you were banned. Now that's BS to me. Conversely, on this site, there are no fees to post your own items. I myself have bought several expensive clubs from Japan that have not worked out for me, and I was able to quickly sell them for very close to what I paid. I have bought items from Chris, and found the prices and service to be very fair. Some sellers have even posted the same things Chris has at lower prices, and he does not delete their posts. I remember recently someone complained about his items being on top of the list. I thought that was ridiculous! He owns the site and pays for it, so he is more than entitled IMO. I look at the BST as a service to us and not a sales tool for him. And the catalog section was only recently created, so this site started as a forum place for enthusiasts. I would say the main emphasis of this site is the import gear. Yes, these clubs cost more than what we get domestically. I am by no means a rich individual, and with a wife and two young children, golf clubs are not my priority. But relatively speaking, tour quality golf clubs are available for reasonable prices if you decide you want them. For 2-4K you can create just about any bag in the world. Clubs any tour player could pick up and most likely shoot their same scores. Compare that to say a high end wristwatch, which starts at 5K and goes way up. So I like that aspect of golf clubs. Whether or not those who can't buy some of the offerings on this site are offended by it, I can't say. I guess that would be like me going to an exotic car club website and being pissed I could not have one. I know I can't buy a Ferrari so I don't really care. And lastly, while the # of new posts remains low, I think that helps keep a friendly community. I have been members on other sites that have spun so out of control I don't go there anymore. Here I can even converse w/ tour club builders... what a service! I have made several great friends, and even talk to them on the phone on a regular basis. So, I enjoy the site, and remain grateful for all of the hard work and $ Chris puts into it. I play clubs I had never heard of before, and regardless of how my game improves I personally enjoy knowing I play clubs I don't see in everyone else's bag. Again, these are just my opinions.
  12. Hi Joe... Had my second session w/ it today. I used your 6/10/10/6 advice and choked up a bit. Great setup. I decided to try an 8 in the back on the toe side. Obviously a very slight difference but I felt more comfortable w/ it. Still heavy, but I like it. I got in a groove and was nutting ball after ball as straight as can be. To be honest, I am not sure why I would shorten it or stiffen it. The I65 is performing very well for me. I want to play a few rounds and we'll see... I think the full 45" shaft helps me hit more consistently on the upper half, where flights are really being cleared for takeoff
  13. Well I got to hit it briefly last night. The I65 is sensational. What a shaft. It really feels "whippy" next to my NV65, and I thought it would not be stiff enough, but there was no overloading it at all. Kind of funny - when I had a 757S 510TP I ballooned a lot (I guess the soft tip in that setup), but did not at all with this setup. I was also hitting it at 32 grams (neutral layout - thanks Joe), but choking up just a hair. I was very pleased w/ the performance. I toggled between it and my Nak. Overall, I was definitely longer w/ the R7 on more balls. I hate saying that, because a lot of people lie about distance. After all, these clubs all approach .83, right? But I think the shaft in this case is superior. My trajectory was sweet - just like they draw on the golf ball boxes - a slight balloon at the end and then a thumping touch down. The mosquitos chased me off early, but I will work this more over the weekend. To be honest, I could care less about the moving weights - I have not tried a draw or fade setup yet, and may not. But I love the profile of the head, and at setup it is simply perfect. I really wanted to try the I65, and after doing so am very pleased! More to come.
  14. Anyone else have or tried this combo? I just got one yesterday and am excited to try it. The I65 feels softer than the NV65 in my Nak, and it may need to be altered for me. Anyone else playing the I65 in something else?
  15. Finally got to try this club tonight. At the risk of stating the all too common reply, it is awesome. I will credit a lot of that to the Z Comm Pro80 shaft, which I had tried before and loved. I find it very friendly, and like most clubs I have tried, a smooth swing was nicely rewarded. I did not have the Royal Collection Super CV to compare to (and off the tee I hit that club very long), but the overall distance and tracetory was the best I have tried. The face is hot and solid (I think "hot" faces sometimes feel hollow at impact, but this club is not like that). It certainly is .5 degrees open, and I liked that a lot. Not sure why I never settled in to the RC, but this Gauge is staying in the bag.

    Happy B-Day Mike!!
  17. Man... may have to wait until the weekend... maybe tonight. I did some carpet putting w/ it last night to see how it may feel and it seems like a "hot" face as oppposed to say a muted face like a Mizuno MP001. After I briefly owned the MR23 FWs on HK Pro80s, I knew that was the fairway shaft for me. And this head is exactly what I was looking for. Not too deep but plenty there w/ the rounded sole. Has the Gauge half cord grip in silver / black and the shaft has the same color gradation... silver for a few inches by the grip tapering to jet black. Sweet looking stick.
  18. Nope... standard model. I love the profile just the way it is
  19. I got the 14* on Fuji HK Pro80. I will try to get some pics up and a review shortly. My first impression, as when I received Gauge irons and putters, is that the fit and finish is superb. This baby should be a rocket...
  20. Price reduced to $90.
  21. Mint condition, no sky marks, on Dynamic Gold S300. With zippered Mizuno headcover. Shipped and paypaled to US destinations for $90.
  22. SOLD!! Thanks for all the emails guys...
