983E gets my vote. Very straight and very long.
  2. I have a rather unique Bettinardi I will try to post later. DASS BB18 2001 PGA Championship limited edition. Custom re-finished by Mr. B himself to my specs, sandblasting the top and back surfaces, leaving the face and bottom high polish. Re-painted w/ black paint. Mighty cool, and at 33.5" w/ a Royal corded pistol grip it is sensational.
  3. Hit at the range tonight and did more head to head with the 4, 6, and 8. Man, both of these are outstanding. I found the 4 iron just as easy to hit w/ the Miura as the Tourstage. Overall, after today's session, I preferred the Zs, primarily because of the ball flight. I guess I have figured out I prefer the Rifle 6.0 over the DGS300. As for feel, it is very tough to discern a difference. Both soft and crisp at the same time. I will have to work the Miura's more to take the Zs out before a round, but I really do not think you can go wrong either way.

Personally, I think it is more than fair. Chris puts in all the work here, and if he wants to hold his stuff at the top of the board I don't mind. I have sold several items that otherwise would have gone to the Bay, and I am grateful to Chris for that. We should consider ourselves lucky that he does not charge us to post like other sites. Just my opinion of course - please do not take any offense.
  5. I have now hit the 7,8, and PW. I LOVE them. To be completely honest, I slightly prefer the feel of the 201s ove the Z101s. The Zs however are very solid in the long irons, and I have yet to try the Miuras. Hopefully this weekend. Snowing now  so that is questionable. Again, I am also looking at a shaft difference of DGs in the Miuras vs. Rifles in the Zs, so that surely accounts for some of the difference. After i hit the long irons I will add more.
  6. FINALLY hit the PW and 8 last night. Man, its been crazy, and when I took the 8 to test the weekend I got them the damn range was off mats due to construction. No way I was hitting her the first time off a piece of sewer smelling shag. Anyways, last night hit the two clubs against the Z101s. The Zs have rifle 6.0 and the Miuras have DGS300. Comparing just these (as I did not bring the others), the Miuras had a higher trajectory and did feel softer. I was hitting well, so I can't say which one was more forgiving. Obviously, the shafts are different and many prefer one or the other. One thing I don't get is that the Miura has a more "head heavy" feel than the Z. I assumed since the DG weighs more than the Rifle (right?), the Z would feel more head heavy. I guess the headweights are different enough to account for that. Anyways, having warmed up w/ the Z, switching to the CB201 had me swinging easier and just getting the clubhead on the ball. The results were great. I like swinging easy and mentally the Miura seemed easier to hit. I will compare the lower irons later this week. I hit the Z3-5 very well and don't know how the CB201s will compare. Anyways, these irons are both sensational IMO, and my thoughts right now are I could play either equally as well. Stay tuned...
  7. They look sweet. After a few putt-chips w/ the PW on the office floor, I have to agree they are noticebaly softer in feel than my Tourstage Z101s. Will be interesting to see how they hit. I got them w/ DGS300, and my 101s are Rifle 6.0, so that will account for some difference. But as far as the fit, finish, and setup, they look superb. Compared to what other companies offer in the $900 price range, I think these got 'em beat.
  8. SOLD!! Thanks TSG...
  9. Got to thin out a bit... the 510TP 9.5 in stiff flex is easily 9/10 condition. Topline and paint are perfect, as is headcover. A few hairline marks on face and sole from normal use. Club is loved but will not see time anymore. Shipped and paypaled to US destination for $350.

I have it on the Speeder 6 and love it. It is noticeably longer for me than my stock 510TP - I would guess 15-20 yards. MUCH more forgiving and easier to hit than the Maru 8.5. I will add a review when I have more time. Certainly my driver for this year and hopefully a lot longer.
  11. Mine too! And I did hit it. Mine has the Fuji Speeder 6, in a menacing all black. Both the grip and shaft have both Tourstage and Bridgestone markings. The corded grip has a repeating pattern of "TS" stamped into it many times. Freakin' awesome. Now... the performance. I love it. I warmed up w/ my JVS on DGX100. I moved to the 390, swinging easy at first and then going after it. Still has a muted feel in comparison to say the 510TP or a Launcher, but noticeably hotter than the Maru US Drive 8.5 face. The 390 also has a slightly "pingier" sound than the Maru, but still nothing like all the other big brands. I will not lie - I hit the Maru well, but I hit the 390 great (at least today). I can also say without hesitation that this is more forgiving, especially when you contact below the center of the face. I did this several times and still had wonderful results; on the Maru you need to contact much closer to the topline. The range I was at hits uphill and has no bonafide markings, but I really bombed a few. While I know many on the board average 280 - 300 yards, I am a consistent 240-260, and was certainly attaining that today. I find the Fuji 6 much less demanding than the Maru's GD Tour AD. Even at only 9 degrees, I was producing the progectory I personally prefer - no ballooning, and slightly lower than average. This driver is a winner, and I look forward to putting it into play soon.
  12. All PMs answered I think... was out of town for a few days. First accepted offer gets her!!
  13. OK fellas, I bought two of these and with the 390 almost here have decided to sell one. Mint condition, has hit maybe 25 balls, immaculate condition. Original headcover, shaft (GD tour AD in Stiff), warranty tag, plastic head cover. Reduced to $510 including paypal fees and UPS ground shipping to US location. PS, if the pics should miraculously appear after my post, all thanks go to FAQ for once again helping the technically challenged!!
  14. Exactly what I did Mike... my 201s should ship the end of the week and I can't wait to compare them to my Z101s. Finally figured why screw w/ finding the "truth" about TMs while I can get the real thing with a much more obscure following to it. Not going to see a lot of Miura's in your friend's bag :)
  15. I have a DASS Bettinardi w/ custom finish, and for those on the fence I can only say they are incredible. The DASS is noticeably different in feel than carbon steel. Very crisp and soft at the same time. Absolutely the finest putters on the planet IMO.
  16. OK fellas, I bought two of these and with the 390 almost here have decided to sell one. Mint condition, has hit maybe 25 balls, not a mark anywhere. Original headcover, shaft (GD tour AD in Stiff), warranty tag, plastic head cover. Asking $560 including paypal fees and UPS ground shipping to US location.
  17. OK, I gather the "tour" sets were forged by Miura. Where I am confused is about the US retail sets. I have heard they are limited to 400 sets. I also know they have a serial # on the 5 iron. Everyone on the forums say they are forged in China. I have spoken w/ 2 different technical advisors at TM in California, and both times told relatively the same thing - "the sets we have available are not necessarily forged by Miura, but are definitely forged in Japan. We don't do any forgings in China". So that is a quote as good as I can remember it. I am simply skeptical, given that many have reported they come w/ stickers that say "head made in China". So can anyone give some facts about the US sets? Incidentally, there has been quite a bit of discussion over the Miura vs. Endo vs. other forgings. I personally do not care where they are forged, but am more concerned that some have commented that the non-Miura FCBs feel harsh and no where near as good. At $1000 or so a set, I have to believe they are still a great set of irons, regardless of where they were made. Does anyone have a set of the US version, and how do you like them?
  18. Boyce - I am pretty excited knowing that you have hit the 101s and would still "easily" choose the Miura's. On their website they tout the 201 as Mr. Miura's "best forginging" to date. Can't wait to try them. I also ordered them on DG S300, whereas the Zs are on Rifle 6.0, so that may account for something too.
  19. I will add that I will be shocked if the Miura's "feel" noticeably better than the Z101s. The 101s are so pure I can't imagine it will be that easy of a decision. If they do feel that much better I guess I will agree with the "forged by the hands of God" reference.
  20. I will be able to offer some thought s in a week or two. I bought the tour satin Z101s the end of last year and have only been able to hit on the range so far. My early impressions are they are awesome, and feel awesome. The "feel" of a golf club seems to be the buzz lately, but comparing against my Cleveland TA7 (which is a super club, and one I am sure would never hurt my scores), the 101 is much more crisp and soft at the same time if that makes any sense. Anyways, I am enthused by Miura's entrance into the US market, and this morning ordered the CB201s to compare. I like having a couple of sets, and I truly will test them both and play with the set I prefer. But the Miura's for under 1K are a steal IMO.
  21. I spoke w/ TM in California and was told all of the limited edtion run was manufactured in Japan. Not necessarily by Miura, but Japan nonetheless. I was also told none of their forgings are done in China. Go figure...
  22. I posted on this a few days ago but it got deleted somehow. Anyways, I am wondering what impressions are of this model. I also understand there are two different releases of this club - one forged by Miura in Japan and the other made by TM in china. Can someone confirm this? I assume the Japanese sets are all gone, so how good are the ones made in China? Any other differences between the two? Thanks in advance.
  23. Joey - last time - I don't care if they have copper or not; I do not think they are better or worse whether they have it or not; in no way will it affect my play. I never said they were better than anything else. I said my irons have a copper underlay. You - the "charter dealer" - doubted this. Good for you. Next time know your facts before you post. Like you said, you are not very familiar w/ the Tourstage line. So why post that it is "unlikey" that they have a copper underlay? It seems this came up recently with you on some Fuji shafts as I recall - the same products you are apparently a "charter dealer" of. I'll be sure and call you when I need one.
  24. Joey - my irons were ordered through an authorized Tourstage dealer. They were made at the TS factory in Japan. They are brand new. They took about 4 weeks to get. They were not made or simply "brushed" in the US. The were produced to my specs in Japan. They have the copper underlay. This is what the factory rep told me. I don't know why you are so incredulous. This is what I have, believe it or not.
  25. I hit an MP30 6 iron one month ago on DGS300. At that time, alternating between it and my TA7, I was not impressed enough to consider a change. After toggling yesterday between the TA7 and the Z101 7 iron, there is no doubt in my mind that the Z101 is the best iron I have hit. I doubt I would feel differently if I had the chance to hit them both at the same time.
