I don't see the pictures........ am I looking in the wrong place?

What if....
I don't think it is any big surprise that drivers are "maxed" out. .83 COR is .83. All of the legal clubs are as close to that # as they can be. OEMs can fool around w/ size, cosmetics, shape, weighting, etc., and perhaps offer more forgiveness, but the length and accuracy of today's clubs is as good as it gets. In fact, as I try to get better, I rather not keep getting clubs that are more forgiving. I know when I am swinging well I can hit every club in my bag well, and when I mis**t it is never the clubs fault. All that said, I still like the Japanese products I have purchased much more than the local OEM stuff here in the states. I find the overall quality in finish and assembly to be much better. Also, I LOVE playing brands that nobody (all you nuts reading this excluded :tsg_smiley_yes: ) has heard of. Would my score be the same w/ an all OEM setup from Golfsmith? Probably, but I sure enjoy playing my bag much more than anything they could give me.

Did get my GF NC1s / Tour Concepts...
Came from Joe on Thursday but have not had a chance to hit them I have chipped w/ the PW in the back yard and it feels great, but that's not the same as bombing at the range. Have to wait for the local ranges to get rid of those hideous mats over concrete. Not gonna break these beauties in like that. I will get some pics up. The satin TCs look sweet. And Joe's work... well you know you're getting the best there. Sorry for those who have PM'd looking for direct feedback. More to follow.

Yes... those are stunning!

G-Field NC1 heads w/ new PICS
Yeah... been there done that. I was playing great the end of the year w/ my setup, with nothing on the horizon. Going to start this year w/ new irons, wedges, and driver. Good thing I was not in the market for anything :)

G-Field NC1 heads w/ new PICS
Thanks Jim for adding the new pics! A little sunlight helps to capture the incredible milling work.

G-Field NC1 heads w/ new PICS
Thanks Jim!! And thanks for posting them for me... For those wondering, the comparison shots have the orginal Gauge forged cavity back (from 2 years ago). Tough to tell in the pics, but the NC1 is more compact w/ a thinner topline. Less bulky altogether. Again, very crisp lines. I can't wait to get them shafted up and in play. Did not start the season looking for anything, but after seeing these from Chris I had to give them a whirl. These are going to sell themselves once the reviews are rolling in. Those pics were under my desk light, so hopefully I can get some better ones w/ sunlight this week. I am a residential architect by day, and the cavity milling is very appealing to me. These are really a work of art. I am glad the leading edge on these is softer than the protos, because it still seems to have plenty of bite. Thanks again Chris!

G-Field Premium Zone #0, #1, #2
You know me Chris... all about the #1. Going to cut my A1SP to 33" (still brand new) and see if I can challenge the SM490A. Throw in the Bettinardi Big Time and I am pretty set on putters. But I'm not ruling out the #1... and based on the NC1 heads, I am sure the quality is stunning.

Final Spec: G-Field 1020 Forged NC-1's
My heads came yesterday, and I am thrilled to hear Chris' input. I will try to snap some detailed pics tonight. I did do a quick side by side w/ the original Gauge FCB and my current iron, the Z101. The Z has a slightly smaller topline, and overall is less wide (not quite 1/8"). Next to the Gauge FCB, the quality of the G-Field looks much crisper. Some of that is the hard lines of the NC1, whereas the FCB has more rounded edges. I can't wait to hit them. With Tour Concepts installed by Joe, these will be the best irons I have ever hit.

G-Field NC1 heads w/ new PICS
Just got the box. This is the first time I have held a head alone, and I have to say they are heavier than what I thought. The metal work and milling marks are exquisite on these. Beautiful brushed satin finish, w/ a blasted cavity and face. Off to Mr. Kwok for some satin chrome tour concepts :tsg_smiley_yes: For anyone on the fence, these look superb. I have an original set of Gauge forged cavity backs, and my Kwoked satin Z101s, but for what I like these take the cake. Thanks Chris!!

Starting the year off w/ a bang...
Great to hear! I have not even tried a TC, but the properties sound like just what I am looking for. I have heard it is silkier and smoother than a Nippon, which I currently play and like a lot. Add assembly by Joe K. and I will never be able to blame these irons for anything!! (well, except costing too much :tsg_smilie_money3: )

Starting the year off w/ a bang...
Thanks fellas. After doing a bit of research, I do believe I will be shafting the NC1s on the satin chrome Tour Concepts. Should make for a killer set of irons.

Starting the year off w/ a bang...
Been 3-4 months since I have hit a golf ball. Finished last year w/ my Kwok'd Z101s and Japan TMR7 / I65. Just ordered new NC1 GF heads + 435 10.5 PT6 driver. Still have to try the Gauge SQBTs. The XST has seen a couple of range sessions and that is it. Should be a fun year :tsg_smilie_smile:

Tourstage X-ST Shaft Question
Must be the "stiff/regular" flex. I have the TXF55 in stiff and it is not whippy.
-
SQBTs have arrived...
Talk about fast... ordered from Chris last weekend and they are already here. They look superb. I got a 53 and 60. I can tell the 60 is perfect for me, but the bounce may be a bit low on the 53 for my liking. Then again, with snow on the ground here in Denver, the low bounce will help me drive through the frozen earth

GAS 1 v GAS1 SQBT
Just ordered my SQBTs - 53 and 60. I was close to ordering TM TPs, but gotta go w/ the Gauge. Thanks Chris!!

Graphite Design M65 versus PT6
Sorry to say but the PT-6 isnt released yet. It is showing up quite a bit on the JPGA tour though. Wondering of course about the XD435 and which shaft to try. If nothing else I do like the blue :smile2: But the specs do look very similar.
-
Graphite Design M65 versus PT6
Can anyone offer a comparison of these two? I seem to recall one having a stiffer tip, but can't remember which one, and can't find the specs on the PT6.

Wedge Profile: Taylormade TP wedge!
Is this the same as the US version? (I assume not...)

10 rounds of golf with the Tourstage X-ST 15*
I agree on the review... outstanding fairway wood. Chris... have you got my last few PMs?

10 rounds of golf with the Srixon W505.
I like the reply and scoring system... perhaps we can make this a standard guide. Nice pics too.

X-ST, FS-T+, or ViQ Fairways: Which is more forgiving?
I can only speak of the X-ST, as it is the only one I have. I recently got it to replace my Gauge GAF1. I have only had 2 range sessions with it, and can attest it is quite a bit easier off the deck than the Gauge was. I look for a 3 wood to be good off the deck first and off the tee second, and I am very happy w/ the club in that role. Luckily, it is easy off the tee too.

Tourstage X Drive 435 / shaft combo
Lots of shaft options on this baby. Does anyone hit the Tourstage TXD70? Chris says this is the same as the limited Stinger shaft, and I am wondering how that plays. What is everyone else ordering this club with?

Graphite Design Tour AD Type 2
Well, I tend to have a smooth, building swing, but can also get torquey and fast and still be very effective. Translated, I don't overpower this shaft and get duck hooks when I am too fast, but get good results no matter how I swing. And I like that. For most of the round I can stay within myself, but after lipping a few putts I can open it up a bit and not fear the club not keeping up. Mine is a stiff flex, although I have my R7TP weighted up a bit so I have soffened it slightly. No problems getting the ball up, but mine is attched to a 10.5 degree face. Very solid feeling; when I put a decent swing the shaft does the rest. I am interested to try the Type II, but I can attest to the first offering being outstanding.
