Wie played a honma shaft, anything special about it? Very solid shafts, made in Japan. very popular on the JPGA even with non honma players. excellent kick and we have them available. I will be listing them in the pro shop shortly.
DarkLord
is it a Japan spec? Edited September 27, 2006 by Boba Fett
+TourSpecGolfer
that looks diferent than the armarqs I have seen, is it a Japan spec? Beres is a Japanese company so yes. This ARMRQ is the 64g standard shaft option.
Willy
Just add on information on the shaft (from the 2005 Honma catalog): 'Armrq 864: Athlete's model trusted by Honma's professional golfers. Four-directional carbon keeps the head on track while flexing the grip on the backswing, speeding up head. Head holds steady even for hard hitters, ensuring square impact and pinpoint accuracy. kickpoint: mid/high, torque: 4.6 (r flex) weight: r/64g, s/67.5g. Further to the catalog, the 864 is a Honma branded shaft. Beres shafts have a different number denomination (but as already mentioned, Beres is a brand within the Honma stable). Armrq is supposed to be the acronym of their armor quad technology for shafts. It's supposed to be a concept similar to fujikura rombax and mamiya axiv. For further reference, check out www. honmagolf.co.jp. They have an english section as well.
xxio
It's a terrible shaft. I'll trade you a graffaloy prolite for it. :tsg_smilie_whistle:
NaisuShotto
think the x-flex gets up to 69gm with @4.0 torque. there's also a 870 and 875. anyone know if they play soft?
Willy
Naisu, I play the s flex. It plays true to flex, and isn't what I would call a soft s flex, usually associated with Japan market drivers. +TourSpecGolfer
The B62 I have is 65g 4.0 Torque Stiff flex at 272 CPM's with no head. It actually played stiffer than stiff.

XXIO, 'Everybody Hurts Sometimes!' REM I know you. Eventually the TW460 with ARMRQ Proto will be in my hands. You know it's a tad stiff, yet a bit high launch for you and PERFECT for me. I will be patient like a grasshopper.

xxio
Time marches on. 10 years ago the prolite was the ants pants. Yup 10 yrs ago....prolite 35X fully inserted in a 975D. If I tried hitting that now it would go 200 yards.
