bogeydog
Hello, I just received the ERC 3 CF 9.5 with Rombax Stiff 6V05 from Chris. I hit about 30 balls with it. Great sound and distance. Unfortunately I don't know how long because the end drops off. My concern is the shaft. Having a 95 mph swing, and being a swinger, I found this club easier to hit the smoother the swing. It produced a mid to high trajectory ball with a med to strong draw. Sometimes a higher ball was a straight shot. The ball seemed to fly well, but I think there may be too much spin. Although it didn't balloon, the ball dropped quickly and looked to have significant roll. My question is, "How would you predict the club to behave in comparison with either of the following two Axiv shafts? I have both. 1) 6064M 2) 6568M Any help is appreciated. Having to much spin is not a trait of the Rombax. They are actually supposed to reduce spin a bit. It could be swing sorry to say. But i do think the Rombax lacks in distance. at 95mph best you install the 6064 untipped.
bogeydog
Ok I replaced the Rombax with the untipped 6064M. I did shorten to 44.5" from the butt. Avix does it again....With a smooth swing, the ball flies about 20 yards further than my R7 425 TP and rolls significantly further. My range runs out of room, but I think 30-40 yards better than the TP. The combo produces a nice mid draw. The ball seems "hot" in that it climbs well and rolls superbly. No ballooning here. Tomorrow I am taking to the course. I am familar with this course, so it should produce some measurable results. Keep you posted. Having to much spin is not a trait of the Rombax. Wow it must really fit your swing or that TP must have really not. Anyway Im happy your happy. With Axiv, Its vital to find the proper shaft, I have seen guys select the wrong shaft and the results were not well. Im glad for you.
