July 3, 200618 yr comment_122002 These are so money. If I were ever to buy a set of MBs, these would be it. What are the shaft options for these, Chris?

July 4, 200618 yr Author comment_122021 DO I smell a COMBO set? TW 901 and TW 902???Is it possible, Chris?? Ya know thats a great idea! I will find out. Im sure 3-4 can be 902 5-PW 902 but let me check if their can be other configs. Shaft options are very slim with beres 902's DGS200, NS950, and graphite.
July 4, 200618 yr comment_122026 I would have set of these by now if I didn't decide to wait for something else....... The short irons actually don't have much of the normal Japanese shovel/reverse progression look. It is still there though. Sort of like the MP27s maybe a little less. I demoed the blades and the CBs (both DGS200) into a net and with my ball of choice (X01) about 3 months ago. Feel is up to par with forged. Not quite Tourstage Xblade soft, but about MP32 soft. When the car payments are done in 3 months I will have these. I should've stopped hyping the woods and the irons since Feb. Now I have all you guys bidding against me4 Edited July 4, 200618 yr by xxio
October 8, 200618 yr comment_125048 Got paired up for a round of golf on Sat with a guy who had a set in his bag. These irons are the business. Very nice Sating finish, minimal offset, very compact and thin top line. On the first tee, he noticed my Scratch Tour Blades and asked me who makes the clubs. Gave him the the 2 minute infomercial on Scratch. He then proceeded to show me his Beres TW902. He gushed about how he only buys the best branded clubs and he questioned the quality of my clubs. I gently remined him that Yuki Ishihara forged the clubs. I asked what the TW stood for on the TW901 and he said "Tiger Woods"...the last time I checked I thought Tiger was playing NIKE equipment. Anyway, we played 5 hours of 18 excruciating holes. Our group was warned my the marshalls to speed up play at least 3 times adn had to let 2 groups play through. I reminded the out group that we have to play quicker but they wouldn't have any of it. The Beres owner took 5-7 practice swings on everyshot (he ended up with 105 on his card). Funny thing was he would blame the clubs for every bad shot he had and threw his clubs on a couple of occasions. I said at the end of the round, if he wanted to sell is irons, I'd take them off his hands. He replied no chance and he asked if we wanted to play again soon. I just smiled and said call me as I walked away. Just goes to show, it's the Indian and not the arrow. Edited October 8, 200618 yr by golfnut100
October 8, 200618 yr comment_125051 Far and away the best looking blade I've seen. Here lies the problem that most of the time that we duffers (hcp 14) have no business playing the 901 0r 902, small head and no offset and all. The beauty and design just blind our better judgement hence a round of 102+. Then again a 5 and half hours around would ruin anybody's game.

One has a slightly wider sole and topline, could be slightly bigger as well.

May 5, 200717 yr comment_134024 I play the 901 *R* w/NS950S straight out from the box! No changes except the make the grip larger with 3 wraps. It's one of the best sets I have ever used. It's cast isn't it? If it is, it sure feels softer than some forged irons! The set is fade biased, and in the beginning you'll find your balls going right but it's quite workable and not too difficult to hit it "straight(er)" or right. Aesthetically, the finish is beautiful. You really have to see a real set to appreciate the finish. Unlike the traditional Honmas, it doesn't dink that easily either, so I don't think iron covers are necessary if one is not too rough with them. I carry my own bag sometimes, and use caddies & buggies occasionally, and despite the knocking around, the finish is holding up really well. The sad news is that....I don't think I'll be buying another set of irons anything soon Cheers -Keng
