GarethUK
I need some advice for my friend who won a competition to visit Muzino for a full custom fit he was told that his stats are, launch angle 16* spin rate 4000rpm swing speed 120 ball speed 175(i think) he was told that if he could get his spin rate down to 2000rpm it would add 40 yards to his drives, the only club the guy could fit him with was a mx500 8.5* with a nv85x.Can anyone suggest a shaft which will get his spin rate down to 200 rpm. yardbeatles
My Sugestion would be a PM702x By Graphite Design. Cheaper solution might be a Grafalloy Prolite 35 or a ProLaunch Red. But I'm not sure if anything would get it down to 2000 with the same swing. 16* and 4000 is like a 3 wood number. He needs a little less loft and as high a kick shaft as possible. Lowpro
he must have a high swing speed.. try the new aldila vs proto 85 x.. or the protopype by aldila .. both stiffe tip sections and low spin.. >>> others>> ozik infra, accra se85, fujikura rombax....... some good choices... plus1
the launch angle isnt too much of a problem here....ideally a 13-14* launch would be good, so an 8.5 head should be fine. In terms of the shaft i would highly recommend a rombax proto 70C in x flex. This to me is an extremely low spinning shaft. yes it does launch the ball up there but it definitely has a flat flight ie not much spin! To me this shaft is a tad boardy and that is where IMO it has its downfall - similar to the whole rombax range in fact. Another option i would recommend your mate would be the axiv V spec in an 8080 or 8084 flex. This is a very low spinning shaft, that still gets the desired launch for the rainbow flight...ie optimum carry. To me this has al the benefits of the rombax and yet has much much better feel. it is much smoother and manageable. I fitted one of my best mates with this shaft in the 8084 flex ( he moved from a 757 x tipped half and inch) and he is truely delighted! * one important thing to note is that although the flight may not appear to be different than his current flight, the ball will have less spin and therefore will get slightly further carry (especiallyinto the wind!) and will also roll out much much further when she hits the deck :tsg_smilie_smile: Hope this helps! :tsg_smilie_cool:
