Henry
My Tourstage X-405 Driver is becoming a little dated. Looking for the longest legal Driver on the market. Suggestions are welcomed!
plus1
i certainly know that the best feeling , most accurate all round performer that i have hit is the 460 epon! it is by far the best alll round driver that i have ever had, and it really does tick all the boxes. Now you are asking about pure hardcore distance, from this point of view i have three heads in mind -> 1) The ERC ft3 2) The Nike DFI 3) The cleveland Type J all of these seemed to be long of the tee, but did not satisfy me in other departments! However bare in mind that with todays technology i feel that the heads really dont vary that much between one another and distance is usually down to the fit of the shaft to the player swinging the club.........i know that i have certainly gained distance, ie carry and roll from increasing my loft by 1 degree and by using an axiv V spec shaft. From doing this my launch and carry has increased and yet my spin rate has lowered.....= long drives! good luck in your search for the long ball! -> ie try one of the above...... but for ultimate satisfaction imo go epon 460! :tsg_smilie_cool: my 4 ball are all hooked on it now lol! NaisuShotto
last issue of gc had the miz mp001 as the longest based on a 43 m/s swing. the srix w505 was a close second. all stock shafts. conducted by fuji using srix z-ur c balls. +TourSpecGolfer
Drivers are maxed out, look for feel. Distance depends on how well the head, shaft, and specs suite your needs. Different tests will have different results 10% should be robotic 90% should be actual players used for testing. The goal is to fine tune your specs until you know what will provide your swing with max distance in the conditions you play.
dorkman53
I am flat out, slobbery in love with my Epon 460/Axiv combo for distance, accuracy, and forgiveness. The more rounds I play with the thing, the better it gets. The increased length and accuracy really takes pressure off every other aspect of my game. It's easier to get pars and birdie chances when you're 20-30+ yards farther down the fairway and hitting off the short stuff most of the time. I've typically averaged 230-240 yards on a well hit drive before, but today I had several drives in the 250-280 range. I even had a couple that I thought I'd missed the sweet spot a bit that were still in the 250-260 range. This is from a 53 year old with a 95-98 mph swing. I only missed one fairway with the driver today. Will every round be this good? Probably not, but my average round should be better than before. Henry
I noticed the Epon Driver has a shaft length of 45.25 inches. Could that be a reason why distance is so good?
plus1
I noticed the Epon Driver has a shaft length of 45.25 inches. Could that be a reason why distance is so good? im not sure if i mentioned above but any of the epon drivers i have order have been....44.75 inch therefore it is 1/4 of an inch shorter than standard. this is the length i always play my driver! so this does not have any role in the increase in distance of my drives!!!!!! dorkman53
I noticed the Epon Driver has a shaft length of 45.25 inches. Could that be a reason why distance is so good? It seems exceptionally unlikely to me that 1/4" in either direction could come close to explaining the very real increase in distance I am achieving with this club. ExtraStiff
The Epon sounds really good. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the weights, to move the CG for more of a fade bias?

You'll be down to just drivers, an 8-iron, wedge and a putter soon! lol! Your four ball should pay for you green fees for a year for all your kindness of spreading the Epon influence!! :tsg_smiley_yes:
