They do this because they understand there are many types of swings out there. whats full of is when people say Japanese golf grinds are designed for manicured courses and harder turff, these guys dont understand that Tokyo, vs Hokkaido, vs Okinawa varies just as much as it does in the U.S. Every land has got its soft and hard lie's. Amen to that, brother!! Having golfed in Japan at four different courses, all varied in their soft and hard lies. I think same goes for wherever one would play. I went from 690mb's with relieved front edge to TourStage X-blades with a sharp front edge. Once I got comfortable with the X-blades, I can honestly say it really doesn't matter. It all comes down to one's own ballstriking. If on occasion I hit a shot fat, its because I'm too steep. Its not the club.
dorkman53
Ari Techner ("Fairway Fred") of Scratch Golf has various sole grinds on his wedges for variants of the slider/sweeper vs. digger/driver players. There is a good tutorial on the website on the subject, too. http://www.sgolfclubs.com/ http://www.sgolfclubs.com/fitting_guide.cfm Edited September 14, 2006 by dorkman53
