kincaid82
I have just purchased a set of Srixon I-506 with 5.5 Project X Shafts. In looking up reviews, i came across this site and have been reading up and trying to learn as much about these products from Japan. I wanted to ask what the difference is between the I-506 version and those i am guessing made in Japan under 505. I am a rookie and will be happy to get all the info anyone is willing to share. Try comparing the spec. of the 505 in www.golf.dunlop.co.jp/ Most XXIO and probably Srixon (Japanese versions at least) are still made in Japan as compared with other like Bridgestone that are made or assembled in China. They do not offer the Project X as a shaft option in Japan.

I am just catching on with the equipment made in Japan.
+TourSpecGolfer
same forging quality, i would say the 505 is more forgiving in the long irons due to tungsten inserts.

Thanks, I need some time, but still getting used to the 5.5 PX shafts. Seems the rate out at 6.0, i have been reading up on Nippon, since i see so many on here talk about them. I think the PX 5.5 are a little stiff for me.

Are you saying that the Srixon one gets in North America is the same or all made in Japan? In order to keep price down in North America, most 'Japanese' branded products are being made in China. The Mizuno one gets in the US is not the same one you would get in Japan for instance. Most of the time, they do not carry the same stock shafts hence play very differently. Perhaps Srixon Japan is on slightly lower price point than say the premium sibling XXIO, they could be manufactured elsewhere. The built and playing quality, to me, is like day and night. Once you play with the true Japanese built clubs, it is difficult to go back to the North American products.
gocchin
I think Chris had mentioned in another thread that all Srixon forgings were all made in Japan. I do like my I-506's. At the beginning I found the leading edge a little on the sharp side but I've gotten used to it. The set originally came with Rifle Flighted 6.0's which are way to stiff for me. They are being re-shafted to Nippon NS Pro 850GH R flex steel this week for me. ^_^ Edited September 20, 2006 by gocchin
+TourSpecGolfer
Yes Srixon U.S stuff is made in Japan. A few less features but still very high quality at a great value.

That is good to know, i may just need to reshaft mine, and hold on to the heads. I love thier looks, just a little harsh for me, but only have a 100 balls at the range on them.
