Much love for the funky BR-1 neo-mallet!!!

I need to read up more on the SF206. Have you hit these yet, Chris? Looks really similar to the Epon FW at address from the pics. Hope it gives better feedback though. Hate the muted feel at times.

I likey the forged blades. However they look to have some offset to them, am I seeing that correctly?

Very nice. Chris, how's the quality of this brand?

The American manufacturers just don't get it!!

:tsg_smiley_laughatyou: The Fourteen clubs are beautiful, however you could say that for ALL the Japanese manufacturers featured on this site.

What else can be said, but keep up the good work!!! :tsg_smilie_cool:

Fourteen has really got their act together, their cream color putter grips, their head covers made by ComoCome!, shaft labels and just the quality of finish and feel.

They sent me a demo 7 of the 770 forged and 7 iron TB-1000, compact heads for sure but oh so soft at impact. they are short heel to toe but on the range I found the blade to be very forgiving for is tiny apperance. Enter the Neo Blade.

Im most excited to get out and hit the SF206, UT-106 and JC606 this weekend. I will let you guys know how it goes. They are drying right now as I installed Tour Concepts into the 770 Forged.

Pardon my ignorance Chris but what is this Tour Concepts shaft?

The more I look at these pics of Fourteen, the more I'm impressed.

TourStage, now Fourteen. . . '07 is looking like its going to be a very good year on the import club scene.

When could we expect your review/general impression of the JC606 and SF206?

I have too many clubs to hit right now and I am looking for helpers to test with me.

In regards to the JC-606, When the center of gravity is too high you produce too much spin which results in distance loss. when the CG is too low you lose spin and get a wide shot dispersion which results in short and inconsistent results. For Max distance and accuracy the CG position is critical, the JC-606 has achived the ideal CG location using 3 piece titanium construction. An ultra thin 0.5mm 15-3-3-3 ti crown for CG balance, a laser welded 3.1mm face for impact perfection and a high strength 6-4 ti body for the highest quality around in a driver. so yes its gorgeous and functional. Their goal is balance, if your swing is tuned producing 2100rpm with this driver is not a problem and fourteens goal in the first place.

Head Size: 430cc

CG height: 20mm

CG Length: 40mm

CG Depth: 34mm

MOI: 4000g cm2

A buddy has had the TC770s for 2 weeks now. He raves about the quality, forgiveness, etc. Bonus is that the short irons don't have the typical Japanese shovel look. They are more like the RAC CBs/TM300s in that respect. The reverse progression is there but you have to look hard.

The downside is that they are too soft, they ding just by looking at them. Even more so than the TS Xblades, MR23s etc.

I guess if Fourteen can make their casting feel so soft, their forgings are too much.

I agree they are soft, Fourteens castings are actually softer than their forgings . the TC-770 your pal has was designed for the mid handicap player, it is made of AM-355 steel which is said to be softer than forged carbon. I have hit both side by side, the TC-770 is softer than the 770 forged by a tad.

So does this statement end the forged vs cast debate :tsg_smilie_cool:

i dont think so, only fourteen and old honma is in the softer than forged camp. if you were to ask a person who only knows U.S domestic equipment the answer would be different.

this is imo a refreshing change.

I agree with the assessment that the original tc770 feel softer than the tc770 forged. My buddy owns the originals, and I own the forged. I've hit my buddy's set and they are definitely softer, with both our sets having the exact same shafts. One thing I can say is that if you check out the design objectives on the Fourteen website, they hit the nail on the head with these irons. Taking them out for a spin is critical to appreciating the design aesthetic. Fourteen seem to be the new Honma philosophy-wise. They propose designs specific to golfer aspirations. Refreshing.

Yup the TB proto's were cast, 14 states the forged product is softer, I beg to differe, I have the 770 forged and TC-770's both with 1050 stiff shafts and imo the TC is softer and dings a little easier.

We do have a couple demo clubs for interested buyers, and of course we offer all custom shaft options on these and will beat any sellers price, not match, beat!

Im most impressed by their woods this year. big update that puts them in the top tier of the wood game, their new UT-106 is dumb easy to hit and very rewarding at impact.

i 100% trust your recommendation Chris - as I only recall once, disagreeing with you! But is it not pretty ugly? Any pics i have seen of the ut have made it appear to have A LOT of offset. I would love to hear your opinion on this!

PS how would this compare to the PRGR 320 cx>? and whats is the retail price?
