Graphite Design Japan is another brand you should definitely consider but it all depends on what you're looking for. I think almost everyone has had success with an Axiv/Epon combo. Chris has hit the Code 6 in the Epon too so he might be able to give you some feedback there. I'll be going the Axiv Epon route myself. Blader-X
Madball, let us all know what it is you're looking for in a shaft and any other descernable characteristics you want. There are many different shafts out there for different types of golfers.
madball
I have a Axiv 6568M in a Comp and like it.. Longest driver I ever played was a Comp with a Blue Diamana 73X but it wasn't that easy to hit high when needed to be. I'm looking for a shaft that I can draw the ball with--like to hit mid-high boring shots that hit the ground running. There are a par 5 few holes on the course where I have to get the ball up in a hurry to carry doglegs.. I've play anything from S to X flex but want something I'm going to keep for a while and tune my swing too.. I don't want to change my swing anymore to fit the shaft Don't want it to be too stiff where it feels boardy or not workable either.. 6 iron ss was measured at 97 --but never had my driver ss checked--I imagine its 105-110. But I try to swing smooth and not out of my shoes--thats my best results. I'm tired of going through the whole line up of shafts I've always played and these newer import shafts look like the ticket.. Just don't know which one. Looking at the Axiv V Spec, Drev, Machline, Qauttro Tech, Diamana's, and Ozik Code 6 Edited December 5, 2006 by madball
Blader-X
I have only played the Epon with an Axiv-V but I absolutely love it. However, if you looking to hit it high I don't think that's the shaft. I like low-medium boring shots. I think the Axiv-V is great for that. For a higher trajectory along with a draw, I think the original Axiv would definitely be something to look into. You've hit the 6568M which has a mid kickpoint. Another shaft worth considering is the Diamana Red. It is promoted as being a shaft which promotes a draw as well as hitting it high. I'm thinking that would be the one to try if I were you making the decision. You have had success with the blue but stated it felt a little boardy. The red is supposed to be without that boardy feeling. The red also might take some of the spin off to get you some of that roll you're looking for. I haven't hit any of the other ones so I can't tell you much about them. The Oziks cost a lot of money and from what most people have written don't seem to be worth the cost. Good luck. +TourSpecGolfer
Madz decided to give the Epon 460 9.5 with Ozik Code 6 Firm flex a try. Lets all hope it goes well for him!
gocchin
He won't regret it, the Code 6 is one smooth shaft. Great feel and best bang for the buck in the Ozik line in my opinion! Good choice Madball!
