hi everyone,

Im going to be placing an order for a custom set of mizunos in the next few days, and was thinking about adding 2 wedges,,a 54 and 60..

I just wanted to know what your opinions are on MP-R vs. MP-T, i know the one is a rounder shape and the other a teardrop style..

Im pretty sure i like the tear drop shape better.

However im not exactly sure what kind of bounce/grind i want on them..

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

louie

Are you ordering these through Chris? If so, best to pm him with a description of your typical course conditions and your current wedge set up (shape, bounce, grind). Do you want a 60 degree for finesse shots off of tight lies, or do you like to use it from the rough, deep bunkers, etc?

Others might be able to help as well if you throw that kind of information up here.

I'm currently playing the Rs and I'm very impressed especially with distance control.

R's all the way, Mizuos best wedge ever!

Also you can get the RunBird Logo on these cause its a new model.

thanks for the recommendations..

i will most definitely go with the R...

What stamp/paint fill/finish do you like on the MP-R??

Best feeling finish for me is the double nickel satin. It also doesn't wear and doesn't glare. My Rs are the stock black which is very nice as well. Came with DGS300 which i then replaced with NS Pro 1150s - I'd recommend the same shaft if you like them in irons. Personally, I think i'd stick with the M logo rather than the runbird but that's personal preference. Good luck, you will love any custom Mizuno wedges.

just place my order with chris,

3-5 iron=Mp 60, brushed satin M stamp

6-pw=Mp32 """""

54degree Mp-T, Brushed satin, black M stamp..

60degree Mp-t,""""""""

I really like the grind on the mp-r but ive had teardrop shape wedges my whole life, so i had to get the mp-t. i hope there are nice!!!

Its going to be a long 4-6 weeks, i cant wait to get my clubs!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh i almost forgot, getting all my clubs with Project X 6.5s....

I hope your swing speed is 110+ :tsg_smilie_smile2:

6.5s??

Whats ya handicap??

im not sure what my swing speed is. I hit my 8iron 165, maybe that can give you an idea.

Im a +2, Im actually playing a set of off the rack Mp-32 with 7.0 PX, which i like alot, the only thing is that i like

to be able to work the ball right to left when needed, and with the 7.0s its pretty hard..

That's a long 8 iron. 6.5 sounds about right.

The frequency police are out! I play 6.5's and I am no where near +2. I went with 6.5's for the extra weight as 5.5 and 6.0 are same weight and -10 grams vs S300 if I remember right.

Anyway, since you sound like a player, just wondering why 6.5's in the wedges also? Heard some pro's like softer flex in wedges for feel even if they play stiff irons.

I have never heard that, about going for a softer flex in your wedges..It definately makes alot sense..

If i dont like how they feel, ill just reshaft them..

haha "the frequency police"...

Wonder what the average handicap is in these forums?

Yeah i agree with you on the heavier shafts. Lighter shafts just feel so unstable..IMO

Yeah, I think it was on an episode of "Playing Lessons from the Pro's." The episode with John Daly.....says he plays a softer flex in wedges for feel. Made it sound like it was common. But, he was using graphite shafts at the time so maybe that played into it.

i actually got the chance to change my order with Chris, so i opted for 6.0 in the wedges hopefully they willl work for me..

I LOVE PLAYING LESSONS WITH THE PROS...theres so much to learn from those dudes!!

The one with Colin Montgomery did it for me, something just clicked and have been playing better and better since the episode...haha
