Posted February 4, 200718 yr comment_128995 I am curious how the Tourstage Viq, X-Drive, & XST compare in regards to appearance, ball flight & playabilty. Any thoughts are appreciated. Visually, from photos, it looks like the Viq is a low profile head. Is this true?
February 4, 200718 yr comment_128996 X-ST is the older FW model geared toward better players and that was just replaced with the X-Drive FW. ViQ is a series that is more forgiving with a higher launch. Ball flight and playability depends on your shaft, specs, and swing.
February 4, 200718 yr comment_129005 I too am interested in the differences between the x-st and new x-drive fairway. What changes did they make in the x-drive. I did notice the turbo rubber dampening is gone. I have the x-ut hybrid, and is one of my favorite clubs in the bag (by far the best utility I have ever hit) Which fairway wood will play most like the hybrid as far as the ball flight and feel assuming shafts are similar?

X-Drive FW is my guess, I have not hit it or compared them side by side with the X-ST. the X-UT is a new model designed along with the X-Drive FW so I would assume they play quite close.
February 6, 200718 yr Author comment_129096 From the photos that I have seen, it looks like the X-Drive fairway woods may be a little larger overall & deeper faced than say a Callaway X-Series. Is this true? Sometimes photos can be deceiving but I kind of favor the deeper face fairway woods as opposed to the super low profile design. Whatever the case may be the Tourstage X-Drive woods (Driver included) look very nice.

I might be wrong about the size according to the post by zerohandy in the following thread: http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.php?showtopic=23418

If you have ever used titleist 904f fw, i am sure the head size of those two (X-Drive fw and 904f) are almost same. Also, in terms of playability i.e on the fareway, X-ST seems to be little bit harder than X-Drive fw. However, on the tee, the performance of X-St is incredible. So, I'm not thinking of throw my X-ST spoon (with Tour AD M65, Stiff), instead, I will add X-Drive fw #5 with Quattro Tech 65 stiff. After testing, I will follow it up again. Thanks
