Posted February 9, 200717 yr comment_129244 I am a brand new member of tourspec golf. I hear a lot of raves about the custom mizzies. Are they better than retail because of custom fitting, or are the materials and detail much better too. I really am considering these. Would love your inputs.
March 9, 200717 yr comment_130678 As my question is really similar I thought I'd add to the above one. I take it the custom mizunos have higher quality control/ superior grinding.. Are all Mizunos now made from 1025E including older models - mp33s - I know they used to be made from plain old 1025.. Thanks.
March 9, 200717 yr comment_130682 I have a set of custom MP-37's and they are great. If you order a set take advantage of the "open canvas" and order a personalized set with custom stampings, paintfill etc. This is what they are truly all about. I ordered my set in the brushed satin finish with my initials and the solid tour M stamp with burgandy paint fill. Unique to me; perfect. As for feel; most Missy irons feel extremely solid; personally they feel a bit softer but overall but close to stock. It's all about the custom experience so take advantage of it. A few years back I played in the Nationwide Tour ProAm locally and while I was on the range (worked my way inside the ropes to hit balls!) a ton of Mizzy staffers walked up to me and asked where I got them. I could see the wheels turning in their heads and I bet the tour rep was busy in the days to follow! That's what you are paying for... Edited March 17, 200717 yr by BigBen
March 16, 200717 yr comment_131126 I just received my MP-60's on TC shafts, thinking about taking out the paint and repainting with Bright red. Where can I send these to get done??
March 16, 200717 yr comment_131160 They are not after market they are done for select accounts in Japan. They have the golden Y stamp letters on the ferrule to show they are still factory. You are not able to send your clubs in for this service. As far as quality goes, its the same Chuo Grain Flow Forged metals used in all the MP series, In America Mizuno is the #1 forging IMO, but Callaway's new X-Forged is as good if not better. Its just with the customs they are finished in Japan not China like the retail versions. Many of Mizuno's older models came from Miura Giken, then those amazing T-Zoid Pro's up to today's JPX series with complicated designs are done at the one and only Endo. Kudo's to Mizuno for understanding that good golfers need quality materials. Dont forget Mizuno's new JDM woods. Too good to be overlooked.
March 17, 200717 yr comment_131163 I had a set of T-Zoid Pros and thought they felt great and very consistant. I was actually unhappy with Mizzy offerings for a while after that.
March 30, 200717 yr comment_131987 Do the Japan Customs have tighter quality specs ??? I have heard they still have weight plugs ??? Would love to see more custom 67's
March 30, 200717 yr comment_131995 Is the black flat finish very durable? Is it ilike the nickel plating? Or will it wear off like the Black Pearl on the Cleveland CG10's
April 6, 200717 yr comment_132388 ive owned 7 sets of mizuno custom's and i must say the fit and finish is far superior to retail models and if you choose to get a nickel plating done, they will feel awesome.....they are a bit pricey but if you can afford it, definitely go for it !!!! the sets i currently have are : Mp32 nickle satin MP37 satin MP27/32 satin MP27/33 satin MP33 nickle satin MP33 satin MP27 matte black * missed out on a sweet set of MP67s
April 6, 200717 yr comment_132390 Am thinking seriously about a combo set of Mizuno custom irons ... any chance you could post some photos of the multiple sets you have?
