PhuketBlue
Just got my new set of scratch blades thanks to write ups on this forum and I couldn't be happier with them. Now it feels time to maybe start looking at adding a new driver and I would welcome any advice regarding head and shaft selection. Unfortunately I have no access to any testing facilities so I'm going to have to go on recommendations. Last time it was measured (and I doubt it has changed much), I have a driver swing speed of 98 to 100, average distance of around 240 - 250 yards with a fairly high trajectory. I'm quite accurate and can find most fairways but I would really like to pick up a few extra yards to compete with my playing partners. I presently play the Mizuno MP001 10.5 degree with regular flex stock shaft (exsar). Any suggestions of a driver and shaft combination that may help me pick up a little extra distance on my existing set up without sacrificing too much accuracy? acrazygolfer
Without additional information, Epon 9.5* with low to mid-60 grams shaft, mid-high kick point, regular flex tip about 1/4 inch.
PhuketBlue
Thanks for the info. Any idea which shaft would fit into that category? I read a lot of talk about the Axiv and Axiv V shafts (amongst others) but I'm not really knowledgable enough to know which of those shafts, if any, would be suitable. I know the info I have provided isn't complete but without access to a launch monitor I don't have the full data to provide.
