+TourSpecGolfer
I Brushed the chrome to give it that special look and changed the paint fill. Re shafted it with the Mamiya Axiv Graphite shaft and weighted it to a perfect D4. The ferrule is a blue silver blue line and the grip is matches too. We can do this in Yellow Black, Pink White, etc.. any color you need for the price of labor and parts. MrBlack
can you give a quick lesson on how to get that bush chrome look?
+TourSpecGolfer
I use the buffer motor with a certain wheel and make sure that its always brushing in the same direction. Its very easy and the wedge doesn't rust. I haven't mastered the art of the perfect paint fill yet but I'm learning with each and every attempt. alpha_pro
awesome looking wedge! how come you like the axiv wedge shafts so much?
+TourSpecGolfer
awesome looking wedge! how come you like the axiv wedge shafts so much? I carry an extra wedge with a graphite shaft because my % of chipping the ball close to the hole increased big time with it. It has something to do with feel, touch, and control for me. Blader-X
Okay, Chris, so when can we start to get the special "Chris Pierson" touch when we order wedges via TourSpec? Custom paintfills, etc. When you use the wedge with a graphite shaft, do you use it only for small, close in shots or do you also use full shots with it and if so, how is the ball flight different, if at all? vandercharks
That's a great toned-down look for that wedge...wish the retails look like that...Nice touch with the Winn grip. Side note: Have you tested these Axiv shafts in irons yet? I don't recall if you tested those yet. If I were to move to graphite shafts, the Axivs would probably one I would consider. I am more accurate with steel for full shots, graphite is when im just off the green. I hit 7 balls with each wedge and kinda judge which setup gets me closer to the hole the more often. If they come within pretty close of each other I do the same process over again until I find my winner. I have used Axiv graphite for a pretty long time, My current Axiv shafted wedge is a BERES wedge with the 950M shaft in X, weighted to play a tad softer. If i find time I will post data comparing the standard X-wedge on the Vector vs Graphite X-wedge.
gth1017
From the "old what it's worth department", couldn't agree more with Chris' assessment of the value of graphite shafts in wedges for close order work near the greens. In fact, I put Aldila NV Mlti 105's in my Epon X-coppers and love the benefits so much that I'm learning how to dial them in on full shots--I miss enough greens to let that fact drive the build of the club. Chris, didn't know Axiv made iron/wedge shafts. Love the driver shaft. Would you PM me some information on the iron shafts such as weights, etc. (and I suppose the price). Thanks.
