BostonHack
I am looking to buy a set of wedges from Chris, I have been looking at all the latest offerings. Tourstage X-wedge Epon X-model Fourteen V3 and J-Spec Miura wedges and the Cleveland wedges made by miura and probably the Yuyuri wedges if any one has played them I am leaning towards the Fourteen V3 Thanks
+TourSpecGolfer
I would suggest the Fourteen V3 and Tourstage X-wedge, not only because they are done at Endo but the TS has upward milling, and killed leading edge, it sits flat yet was very able to open up. Just great Inpakuto all around. The Fourteen is design at its best. from the shape to stamping its class, Endo forged in Japan. Problem is both brands dont offer these custom built to your specs, we would have to build them custom for you. All currently in stock. X-wedge or V3 with S400 D4/D5 is what im shooting for perhaps this week. My gamers are the Epon Technity and Honma Beres. I do use different wedges depending on weather and course conditions. jjunonet
I'm thinking of getting a Scratch wedge set from Chris but I, now, have to think it again after seeing these beautiful wedges from Frouteen and Tourstage.... Chris, do you know how does Fourteen J spec performs compare to V3 and X-wedge?
taipanli
Although I haven't tried the new Fourteens, I'd have to agree that the new X Wedges spin a lot. Compared to the various Mizunos and Gold's I've been playing, the X Wedges spin more. Not my preferred head shape but they're working well so I'll leave them in the bag for the time being - good wedge.
idrive
I can only play my Tourstage Maru X-wedges on hard/very firm greens. I can't seem to keep the ball from spinning off a soft green with 3/4 to full shots. Epons are spinning the ball perfectly on most greens that are not "hard"
rbtlin
Fourteen wedge seems very hot in Japan. See this link from Kakaku: http://kakaku.com/ranking/itemview/wedge.htm I also like Fourteen wedge very much, but not sure if I should choose J-spec or V3. I heard that J-spec is positioned at Game-Improvement users, and V3 is positioned at Players. Chris, what's your comment and where can I find any the review on these 2 wedges? Blader-X
Just to compare two of the offerings from Epon. I have an Epon Technity 52 bent to a 51 in black finish, and two Epon X-wedges in copper, a 56 bent to 55 and a 60. All three have Black Gold shafts in s-flex. In terms of spin, the Technity in black puts quite a bit more spin on the ball than the Copper X's at least with my swing. In fact, I prefer the X's because I can predict the spin a little better. I'm ripping the Technity back a good 15 feet and that's on slower greens. Both models have tremendous feel. My touch shots have returned and I couldn't be happier after switching back to 3 wedges from 2. I might grab one more X-wedge to replace the Technity just not sure about that yet. Anyone else who's played both models getting these results as well?
Henry
I recently purchased the Fourteen V3 after having Cleveland 900 series for a long time. Only reason I got the Fourteen was from the information on this sight. I can say without a doubt these wedges rock and are far superior than Cleveland. I have the Fourteen in 52, 56 and 60 and find the spin is incredible ( if that is what you are looking for). Even on downhill shots did I find the ball to spin a little. Not sure where you would classify them as either game improvement or players but I find them not that difficult to hit. Cannot go wrong purchasing these wedges!
