bazzardl
I have been playing golf for 2.5 years, 41 years of age, handicap of 18 (should to 17 based a recent medal performance). I was custom fit by precision Golf in the UK approx 12 months ago. Very happy with the results. My driver swing speed is 85 to 90 (or it was then - I suspect it gotten faster since) - unfortunately I dont have the rest of my stats and it will be very difficult to get back on a launch monitor anytime soon., I am a two planer, with an upright swing. I have a smooth backswing with a quick (maybe aggresive) transition. If it helps to answer the question I hit the following clubs: MP 60's 6 iron 165 - 170 7 iron 150 - 160 8 iron 135 - 150 Not exactly sure how far I hit my driver - maybe 250 yards on a great day with some roll, probably 220 ish normally. I play a TM 425 (retail), with a YS-6 + stiff shaft cut to 44", d7 swingweight (I like the heavier feel). I recently bought a Titleist 904f 3wood with a YS-6 + FW stiff shaft cut to 42", d5 swing weight - I am able to hit it at least the same as my driver and in most cases I can be upto 30 yards further. Bad shot with both is right (slice with driver, fade with 3wood). I need to 2 things - ideally a shaft in the driver that will help me release it better to turn the slice into a fade or straight shot (I have the 425 weighted for a draw) and a shaft that will help me hit it further that the 3 wood. can you help me based on the info I have provided? Also being a club Ho is there anything in the Ozik line that might help? I have also posted this on another forum and the response seemed to be add more LOFT! The club Ho in me immediately started to see an 11.5 degree superquad retail and a high launching Ozik Xcon 6 in firm!!!! Thanks in anticipation. +TourSpecGirl
I'd say get the Ozik Xcon Altus shaft in Firm (71g). It has a little more spin & a more active tip to help you release. Sounds like that'll be a great setup for you. Good luck!

ranghips
That sounds like great advice, Tourspecgirl is ALWAYS spot on with her advice, she helped me enormously with my shafts. You may also want to consider the new Roddio shafts, but my own feeling is that you are not helping yourself to release the driver with a D7 swingweight particularly if you naturally lag your hands through impact, a lighter swingweight may not feel as comfortable at first but should help you release the clubhead.
