gosoojj
I'd like to know if anyone play with Tourstage X-Drive Fairway Wood with Quattro Tech shaft. I could not find any topic on this yet. Since I love QT shaft so much, I want to get x-drive 15* fairway wood QT stiff but would like to know if someone can comment on this. Does Tourstage recommends QT shaft on fairway wood like driver? Edited March 24, 2007 by gosoojj

Does Tourstage recommends QT shaft on fairway wood like driver? I demoed the 15* X-Drive FW with QT (S) at the range last week. Though I can't hit them off the deck (I can't hit ANYTHING off the deck), I can safely say that it's the best combo off the tee I've ever tried. I hit it about the same length as my current driver with much better consistency (the main reason I'm looking to change driver). Absolutely love the feel and sound of this thing. It has a clear bright metallic sound similar to the ViQ but not as hollow. IMO, the face feels more explosive than the X-ST. Hope this helps. Its Graphite Design Japans best gem available. Worth a try for sure. The XD does have a clear " bright metallic sound ". I use names for feel too.. I call the Tourstage X-Drive and FW the " metal crunch ". I call Epon Driver and FW " forged sponge ". Super Quad is " hollow tink crunch " and classics like the 975D and J340 " dead mute thwack ". ViQ was "hollow metal crunch". The new ERC Hyper would be " hollow expensive tink "

Blader-X
I have the QT in an Epon fairway and its very, very solid. Performance off the tee and deck is huge and dispersion very tight. I attribute the results mostly to the shaft. The Epon just makes it "feel" even better, so I would think a QT in a TourStage would perform admirably well. In fact it was between these two clubs before I decided upon the Epon. Go for it and let us know with a review.

Does Tourstage recommends QT shaft on fairway wood like driver? Do you remember if shaft was QT65 or QT75? I have QT65 stiff on driver but wondering that if I should go with same weight or one heavier. Any recommendation anyone? This is really exciting shaft for me so far

I have QT65 stiff on driver but wondering that if I should go with same weight or one heavier. Any recommendation anyone? This is really exciting shaft for me so far Its a feel sort of thing. I know quite a few people will go slightly heavier in the fairway woods since the driver head is usually heavier than the fairway heads. Going with a heavier shaft in the fairways then will give you an approximate feel of the same weight as you have with your driver. The thinking is, is that one can use the same swing ensuring better consistency. However not everyone subscribes to this so its all really what you feel you need. If you take a look at TourStage's website they offer the X-drive Fairway wood in the QT65 along with another graphite shaft (XD-60) and steel shaft (S300) as well. In my Epon I have the QT85 because for me, the heavier shafts allow me to swing better. I've tried lighter shafts but have gone back to 80gm shafts because it suits my game better. Again, its all a matter of knowing oneself and one's game. Good luck with your decision.

Any recommendation anyone? This is really exciting shaft for me so far I fell in love with the shaft the first time I swung the 430P w/QT shaft. I have the 65 in the Driver. Had the 75's put in my fairway Woods. Seems to be perfect. IMO I would suggest going with a heavier shaft (75-85's) with the fairway woods. Without the ability to mix it around and hit shots with every shaft, I don't know what the perfect setup is, but this one is working!
