Posted March 25, 200717 yr comment_131699 I noticed the likes of Epon Type S, Type X, Royal Collection S.F.I. and many other forged irons have a thin under cut behind the face. How do they do that? Are they 2 piece heads or do they use computer cutting like the Mizuno MP-25?

Are they 2 piece heads or do they use computer cutting like the Mizuno MP-25? Lets look at the Type S, its long irons have a separate piece for the face while the 7-PW are single. That is what changes feel but also creates forgiveness on off center shots. Type X and SFI are the same Iron. Royal Collection loved the designed and purchased it from Endo. Mizuno MX-25 is not of this caliber but I will say its one of Americas better semi game improvement cavity backs. When there is an undercut the sound is a higher pitch at impact, if you tap your finger nail against it you her tink tink instead of thudd thudd. I like Thud Thud so i tend to stay away from the undercut.
