searchin4par
Hello all, new to this site which I only have found a few days ago, great site! Here is my delema. I've been using a Titleist 822OS iron set with Nippon NS Pro 950 stiff flex shafts for about four years now. I've always like them but wanted to try something new. I ended up buying a set of the Nike Pro Combo OS irons. I love the feel of the forged club head and when I demoed them I was hitting the 6 iron between 180 and 200 yards on the launch monitor with the standard TT Speedstep stiff shafts. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on them so I bought them. It was a different story though out on the course, I was pulling ever shot. I believe these shafts are a bit lighter than the Nippons in my Titleist so I was attributing it to the shafts. To make sure this was the case I did a side by side comparison of a Nike club and a Titleist club and sure enough my Titleist was straight as an arrow and the Nike pulled to the left. It isn't a dramatic pull but was enough for me to pull ever shot left of the greens. So. I really like the Nikes so I decided to reshaft them but am a little confused on which shaft to select. Should I go with the same Nippon shafts in my Titleist or TT DG300 (heavier shaft) or Dynalites? I can't remember what my swing speed was but I think my 6 iron was in the high 80's low 90's, My driver is about 107-110. Any suggestions? The Nippons match up good with the Titleist but would they do well with the Nikes? Thanks
searchin4par
Is this the correct section to post this question?
acrazygolfer
Any idea on the head weight of the titleist and the nike? According TT, the Speedsteps were designed to be 30% lighter than the standard steel shafts and therefore it could be a cause of those pulled shots. With your SS, you may want to try heavier shafts and may be a bit stiffer flex too.
searchin4par
I have no idea what the club head weights are of the two. I see that Nike no longer uses this shaft in theri CCI's. They are now using hte TT DG for the forged and TT Dynalite for the cast versions. Would you suggest the DG? They are quite a bit heavier 127grams I think conpared to 92 in the speed step and 97 I think in the Nippons. I don't want to make it so dramatic that I have to alter my swing so that is why I was thinking the Dynalites or even the Nippons.

ranghips
You could try Nippons NS Pro 1150 Tours in stiff flex, if you want something a little heavier, but as a crazygolfer says you really need to find out the comparable head weights because overal swingweight and balance are two of the most important factors in controlling dispersion.
