March 30, 200717 yr comment_132003 Looks like they're running out of shapes and designs to put in the cavities of these things. Hard to keep coming up with "new technology" for a forged cavity back iron but they sure keep trying. Now we're into undercuts with power bumps behind the sweet spot. Any guesses on what's next.

No argument here: from the top, front and bottom these look like a dozen other beauties--Epons, Tourstage, Mizunos, you name it. It's the cavities that these companies are using to distinguish their particular offering from another, and it's there that I think they're getting sillier and sillier with no demonstration, to me at least, that the bumps, rolls, etc. add anything to the playability of the club. Just my two cents. Nothing against PRGR.

I guess its harder for the Mizuno to feel as good when the face doesn't have as much meat or bulk behind it. Also TPU's do absorb vibration quite well. Both are great irons, If i had to choose it would be tuff to do. Im just throwing out another great option... As if you guys needed more options..lol Having hit both i do think the Mizuno's fly higher.

Is the IS3 toe plate thingy a badge or a thicker part of the back of the iron. It looks like it might be either just a badge or additional meat up high in the toe. Also, is the TPU a'la Ping's custom weight port that can take heavier or lighter weights to aid in dialing them in? I assume we could get something like Project X shafts in these and the Mizunos? BTW, I had some guys from a big golf store here in Michigan hit my MR-23 CBs yesterday. They couldn't believe how soft/good they felt compared to ANYTHING in their store.

I see more perimeter weighting on the JPX, including out high on the toe, as well as a deeper cut cavity. I'd guess the MOI toe to heel would be quite a bit higher on the Mizuno. Do you agree? On the other hand, I think I like the sole's more rounded profile on the PRGR. Not sure what the difference would be to my game... I'm trying to develop a more decending blow and I play on pretty lush grass. I really like all the technology built into these forged clubs. Can we get our shafts of choice? It appears to me that the Mizuno would be a bit more forgiving on toe hits, which is a common miss for me. I agree that both of these look really sweet. I love options. It just takes a little effort to work through them to find what is likely to be the best for my game and the location at which I play. Is there another club that I might want to add to the equation?
