unclekent
What is the difference between the Epon Technity Wedge and the Epon X-Model? I see that there are finish options, but is the only other difference being copper in the model X wedge? The X wedge also comes in Satin finish, is this done over the copper or is another material used. Is there a design difference between the two? The loft and bounce remain equal in both versions. Lastly, is the Nicr20 finish available anymore in either wedge design? A lot of Q's, I know, Just want to be fully informed in my decision making...Thanks in advance! Kent Its a different grind in the lower toe area, The Technity wedge is just a hair easier to open up due to this. The lower toe on the Model X wedge is closer to the ground while the technity looks a bit lifted. Model X is only available in Copper. I can special order any finish on most of these wedges but it cost more and takes a couple weeks longer.
Blader-X
I've found that the Technity's have more spin opposed to the X-models.
idrive
Firstly... I am always experimenting with clubs... I have both the X-wedges and the Technity wedges. Have played both extensively on the Golf Course and Driving Range. I have spent a couple of hours hitting chip shots in the house with them. Off of tight carpet, shag carpet. Chipped with the ball in the back of the stance, front of the stance. Putting stance with toe down heel up. Blade open, blade closed. Very difficult to tell them apart. If you like to open the club, lay flat, for most of your shots you may prefer the Technitys. IMO it comes down to the finish you like. If there is a difference it might be as Blader said and that's a bit more spin with the Technitys. Outstanding wedges. They are keeping many other excellent Wedges on the shelf.
