On this forum I wee most of you guys raving about Epon technity 460 ZR but what about the technity 415 ZR model? Pro and cons using the 460 vs 415. Anyone has any experience. I did read somewhere in this forum that epon technica model 390 or so was actually the longest driver per Epon? Is this correct? Basically looking to add some yardage. I know with today's driver head the shaft matter more but still want to find the optimal head to go with optimal shaft. :tsg_smilie_smile2:

Any of the Epons will out distance the FT-3. I have a 14 year old female amateur here who regularly hits my Epon 460 at least 15-20 yards longer than her FT-3 and she is an amazing ball striker. We tested outdoors and on the Vector and the Epon 460 with axiv shaft was providing optimal spin and launch for her. She had been using the FT-3 for a year.

The 460 is the more forgiving of the two. Both are deep faced while the smaller Technica's were a bit more shallow. All the Epon models cry quality and feel. It is the best feeling driver I have ever hit and I've hit at least 10 since last summer. I just happened to have a bit of trouble with a deep face.

But as you said, find the right shaft for your swing and pair it with an Epon 460 and you will most likely have your gamer for the year!

im gonna have to disagree with you on that one........i had a tour issued ft3 and it was the longest club i have ever owned.....i would say it is a good 15 yards longer than my epon 460 !!!! however the epon feels better, sounds better, is more forgiving and way more accurate.....i could hit the ft3 long but it was a nightmare on tight courses....the epon is in my opinion a perfect blend of driver !!!! it does everything great but distance is however not exceptional.....i have 4 epons at home right now .....i am a huge fan of the epon 460zr !!!!!!!

Usually the longest drive are the ones that end up in the fairway or close to it ...not when the ball is in deep rough or in the woods.

I cannot argue about the FT3 or Epon for distance but at least the Epon sounds better. The main difference between 415 vs 460 in Epon is the location of CG. 415 is higher and cater to low handicap players which usually have a higher ss and no problem launch the ball. I am sure us mid handicap can play it but why make yourself do so much extra work for a game?

Is it still possible to get Epon Technica 380 froum tourspecgolf proshop, did not see it on the site. Would reshafting the FT-3 with AXIV or Roddio way to go?

(^_^) I just noticed that dragon was using an FT-3 so I brought up the comparison. I personally have NOT hit the FT-3, I'm only relaying the data and experiences for Becca. She hits it dead on the sweet spot every time and with the FT-3 can only go around 220 yards while she is around 240y with the Epon... she does agree though that the Epon is by far the superior feel. When I want to do consistent testing I always get her to hit my drivers as I don't know anyone who is a more consistent ball striker or shoots a lower score than her (^_^)

Anyway Duffer is pretty much right, the 460 is made to be more forgiving and get the ball up. Some have noted that it tends to have a high trajectory which is good for some, not so good for others, but getting the right shaft as I said above will take care of that.
