Posted June 5, 200717 yr comment_135581 I am looking at picking up a new driver & figure its time to try out an X-Drive. I have great success with a MARU SPEC and want to give the X-Drive a chance. Looking at the 340, 365 and the new 430P. Can anyone give me a timeline on these drivers? & also the basics of how the head plays? From reading the forums it seems the 430P is a low launching neutral/fade biased driver which is perfect for me - I just find 430cc to be quite big to my eye. But I can not find much info on the X-365 and X-340 Patrick
June 5, 200717 yr comment_135582 If your looking for a small headed driver get the Epon 415 custom built or the epon 380, the 380 is unreal long but its .5 closed. Some argue this is Epons best head to date. Of the Tourstage heads you mentioned the 430P is easier to hit than the other two, sets up much better and even feels more solid yet not as muted. The 340 and 365 have open face angles and are 1-2 generations older than the 430P with also a metal crunch, those still have the turbo rubber used in them.
June 6, 200717 yr Author comment_135599 Thanks Chris, Would there be any difference between the 340 and 365 spin wise? That is, is the 340 like the 983E and the 365 like he 983K?
June 6, 200717 yr Author comment_135601 Yeah if you know where to look! I really cant get used to the larger headed drivers & find myself gravitating back to the older models. I would gladly play a 983E, 975J, X-Drive 340 and MARU SPEC with my shaft of choice & put it up against any new age driver.
