TurboSport
I notice that some wedges have swing weight around D8-D9 and weight in excess of 440 grams. When I tried a Vokey Design I thought it was very heavy almost like a putter. What would be the right swing weight and weight for wedges if your irons' swing weight is C-9? What would be the right swing weight and weight for wedges if your irons' swing weight is C-9? depends, i just had my irons changed to a d3 from a d0 and want my wedges a bit heavier. so im thinking around d7/d8 for me would be ideal. +TourSpecGolfer
I suggest a flowing weight progression, I play: 3-9 Iron D2 PW D3 52* D4 58* D5
xjrs6
You should choose your PW to be up to 2pts heavier than your 9 iron ,your SW a least 6 pts heavier and your LW 4pts . C9 is a bit on the light side ideally you would aim between D0 & D2 what do the rest of your irons weigh in at? Pick out your favorite iron measure that , that generally gives you a good indication of what weight is a preference to you .Most of us would be unable to tell 1 swing weight either side so weight them all for a comparrison Good Luck
Blader-X
I tend to think wedges should be heavier than what your irons are. Better control IMO. My irons range from D8-D10 but my wedges are E2, E4 and E2 respectively and they feel absolutely great.
tmtp
It depends on the feel that you are looking for. Generally wedges have a heavier swing weight since the shafts are shorter, the head needs to be heavier to get the shaft to flex properly (especially since wedge swings are not usually full swings). Personally, I like all of my clubs on the heavier side, so my swing weight progression is very small: Driver through 9 iron: D5 PW, SW, and LW: D8
