Posted June 19, 200717 yr comment_136260 Hi Guys, Just wondering whether you could point me in the right direction. googling and searching the tsg web site resulted in limited choices. Or may be I have used the wrong words combination. I am looking for some quick release magnetic iron headcovers and was wondering if any japanese manufacturers have produced anything sexy recently. As I have yururi black raw blades coming I need something equally as beautiful to protect them! Thanks Alex

June 19, 200717 yr Author comment_136267 Thanks Spoon. I did have have a look at the mizuno one. I just can't wait to give a review on the new babies with their sister wedges! Alex
June 19, 200717 yr comment_136269 I'm not sure if there are any magnetic ones available from any of the JDM brands. The ones carried here at TSG are either velcro like the tourstage, mizuno ones or pull string like the adidas and TM ones. If you can find a JDM iron cover with magnetic type quick release, just let Chris know and he can get it for you for sure.
June 19, 200717 yr Author comment_136272 Gocchin, Thanks for your reply. Good point. I did actually find one but I can't seem to buy it directly from Pro line or find a retailer. Chris, this challenge is for you. Should you wish to accept it! :-) This is the link to the headcovers I have found. http://www.prolinegolf.com.au/products_det...at=8⊂=16
June 19, 200717 yr comment_136274 Have you ever used magnetic covers before? I have a Putter cover that's magnetic. I don't like it. Just wondering if the club will try and stick to it as you put it on. Let us know how you like them if you ever get any.

Anything magnetic near an iron is a terrible idea. I had a UT cover that is magnetic and it kept snagging with the irons. That was one cover and can you imagine 8 or 10 magnetic covers?
June 19, 200717 yr Author comment_136285 Well i did for while until the set got stolen, but that is a different story. They were given to me by a good friend south african pro. I understand your concern regarding the magnetic strip but based on my experience the magnetic strip was no hinderance at all. The ones I had were very deep. thick leather and lined with a synthetic velvet cloth so both the face and the hosel were protected. The magnetic strip was too small and too far from the face to have any interference. Also the interesting concept was that the opening was operated by a folding spring effect which proved to be very efficient. From what I can see although the image is not so great is that the proline model is the nearest to what I had. A.
June 20, 200717 yr comment_136375 I use the Club Glove Gloveskin neoprene covers on my forged Fourteen TC-770's and absolutely love them. I just got both the irons and covers a little more than a month ago. First time ever using iron covers and I'm surprised I didn't start using them sooner. It's a much more pleasant walk down the fairway when you dont hear and feel your iron heads clanking against each other. I looked at the Castle Bay shell style covers at Golfsmith, right next to the Club Glove's, and they appeared to be clearly inferior. The material they were made out of was too dense and rough and left me with the impression that they might do more harm than good. I did not see any magnetic covers however.
June 21, 200717 yr comment_136408 Has anyone come across hybrid covers that just cover the head? I use a Bennington bag that keeps each iron in its own separate slot and I would like to be able to put a hybrid club in 1 or 2 slots but the long headcovers prevents me from being able to do this. Mike
June 25, 200717 yr comment_136638 I have the Mizuno headcovers with the internal velco strapping. They certainly look nice but it does wear out after a while. I had mine for 3 years and they are beginning to give way. I think they cost about US$55. I'm going back to my cheaper neoprene covers which will probably last me only 1 year + but cost only 15% of the mizuno covers. You can find them in ebay.
