CPM on AXIV-V shafts

I am bit confused on cpm values on AXIV-V shafts.

I am considering AXIV-V 6070 and it seems to fit my spec overall but only problem is indicated CPM says 275.

Isn't 275 more like X-STIFF or maybe little stiffer rather than stiff?

I have been using 250~265 cpm range sbut never in 270s. Are they really that stiff?

I would appreciate if anyone could give me insight on how I should interprete cpms on AXIV-V shafts.

Thanks!

They use a 7" clamp to measure CPM's so its actually much softer. Also that doesn't take into account your clubs actual head weight and length.

Its pretty much your club makers job to dry fit the club several times to get it to your desired CPM. 255ish with most heads and that shaft isn't a problem at all.

Chris,

Can you elaborate little more on dry fit? How does one dry fit a shaft to desired cpm?

I don't remember seeing any club maker in my area to really do that so I would like to give them little info on that.

Thanks!

So after the shaft is prepped, the length cut, and a split grip installed and anything else that will happen to the final club a crafter will use fishing line or something else to keep the head tight on the shaft as if it were glued, then they put the grip clamp on their cpm machine and twang it to see what CPM's the club would play at if it were glued.
