What are the differences between the Gauge Design "Studio", "Forged MB3's", "NC-1's" and the "MB-2's"? Which are forged, which aren't and are certain ones handmade? I'm looking to buy a set. Thanks.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion......my opinion is the studio hand mades are probably the best.... however it is an individual thing.

In terms of manufacture Chris or gocchin would be the best to advise.

PS Rumour has it that there were only 50 sets ever made of the hand mades (most of which have been sold and purchased through the BST at Tour Spec)

I'm pretty sure they were all forged except for the CCB-1's which are cast. I do not have much experience of feedback on the MB2's and 3's but the NC-1 was supposedly very forgiving. The Studio Handmades were the only ones hand made I think.

My favorite was the original NC-1 non handmade and the MB-1. Those are made by Kyoei but honestly the V-Cavity is better a better iron than the NC-1. So if your looking for name go with the gauge, but for a better IMO sole design and setup while still having that same gauge/kyoei shape, you will be happier with the V-Cavity, very underrated for their setup/performance.
