mramage
When ever I look in a fellow golfers bag or at a WITB I always look at the wedges first. I think it is a good sign of how seriously they take there setup. As a result of manufacturers producing so many wedge options (ie. CG12 = 16) golfers can now come up with there perfect wedge setup very easily. The combinations are almost endless! Actually, if you consider the custom grind, bending and shaft options available the combinations of wedges is endless! Everyone has a different wedge setup for different reasons and shots. Tell us about your wedges (photos would be nice too!), specifications, alterations and shots they are used for. I'll go first: Tourstage 2007 X wedge 52* with Rifle 5.5 This wedge is forged so it files in nicely behind my PW(mp32). The shape is relatively square and it sets up square so it is a nice transition club from irons to wedges. Shots: - 110 yards: full shot - 90 yards: open stance, 3/4 swing - Chip from rough or very soft ground - Bump and run from just off the green with lots of green to work with Titlest Tour 60* custom grind made for Jay Haas with Rifle 5.5 I simply love this wedge. I don't know what I would do with out it. Perfect out of bunkers and lobbing it up in the air. Not much bounce though so I don't use it too much on very soft ground. Shots: - 75 yards: open stance. 3/4 swing - Chip from fairway or hard ground (if too soft it digs so I use 52*) - Green side bunkers - High lob (the grind lets this club open up so nicely) The Rifles 5.5 in my wedges are a bit softer in flex and lighter then my DGS300s. I like this because I can feel the kick even on 3/4 shots. Any other questions - just ask! Lets hear some more>>>
Spoon
pics soon to follow but my current gamers are: 52* chikara prototype i mainly use these for: anything between 70-100 yards . full swing around 90-100 yards depending on wind and pin placemet 60-80 yards 3/4 swing bump and run shots and slight chipping from the greem bunker shots with lots of green to work with 57* chikara prototype anything below 70 yards full swings 3/4 swings 50 yards and below chips from and around the green gnarly lie lob to pin when lots of green to work and elevated pin placemnt lob topin when ball is in rough and green is elevated bunker work havent had much experience with these clubs but im trying to get the hang of it. trying to get used to the weight as the s400s are significantly heavier than my ping mb tours with nspro 950 stiff. the chikaras i alternate with my previous gamers ping mb tours 52/56 combo
Blader-X
Simply put, I have the best 3 wedge combo ever to have put into play for my game. All three are Epon Wedge X-models, copper finish. Wedge #1 Loft: 60° - Bounce: 6° - Lie Angle: 3° flat Shaft: True Temper Black Gold - stiff flex - 36" Swingweight: E2 Grip: TourSpec Cord Used for approach shots of 85 yards and less, open faced high lob shots, back-in-the-stance running shots and everything else in-between. Probably the most used wedge of the three. I do however do not use this wedge for any greenside bunker shot (blast shot) but will use it for bunker shots of say 50-60 yards where I'm trying to hit the ball first (i.e. fairway bunker shot) Wedge #2 Loft: 55° - Bounce: 11° - Lie Angle: 3° flat Shaft: True Temper Black Gold - stiff flex - 36" Swingweight: E4 Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Used for approach shots of 100 yards and less and all greenside (blast) bunker shots. Also wedge selected for most greenside shots in real fluffy lies where contact may be a little dicey. Will also use for back-in-the-stance chips as well. Wedge #3 Loft: 50° - Bounce: 6° - Lie Angle: 3° flat Shaft: True Temper Black Gold - stiff flex - 36.5" Swingweight: E2 Grip: TourSpec Cord Used for approach shots of 125 yards and less, long chip and runs and any other shot around the green where I would normally select one of the other two wedges, but given the conditions I just "feel" the 50° is the better play; maybe I want a little more run or a lower trajectory. I've written plenty in the forums about my love for the Black Gold shafts so I will simply say here that its the "feel" I get from this shaft that I love so much. I have tremendous amounts of feedback from this shaft and its given me great confidence when I use it. The trajectory I get from them also matters a great deal. It bores through the air on a "lower wedge" approach that I prefer from full swings. The above descriptions are my general uses and yardages but of course conditions vary and so may the club selection at the time of the shot. For me there will be no other wedge in the bag until these wear themselves out. The only wedge I want to give a go is the Chikaras by Carlton but I won't do that until the custom options are available. For me, right now its the Epons. I simply don't get the amount of play I once did and even though I really, really want to return to competing and playing more, my kids' schedules really limit me from being able to do that; so I have to be happy to play during the times I do get to get out there and play. As for pics, you've all seen the Copper X-models and my wedges aren't as pretty as they once were. But my game isn't about a beauty contest especially when it comes to getting up and down. However, even though they're fairly well worn, that copper look and feel is one heavenly sight!!

I'm certain custom options can be arranged. Chris can probably set you up for this or you can PM tbc777.
idrive
I have just recently gone to the 4 wedge set up. Very very similar to Blader X I am using CHIKARA wedges Wedge #1 Loft: 60° - Bounce: 10° - Lie Angle: 60.5* Shaft: True Temper S400" Used for approach shots of 60 yards and less, open faced high lob shots, back-in-the-stance running shots and everything else in-between. Probably the most used wedge of the three. I do however do not use this wedge for any bunker shots. Wedge #2 Loft: 55° - Bounce: 13° - Bent from 56*/14* - Lie Angle: 61* Shaft: True Temper S400 Used for approach shots of 75 yards and less and all green side (blast) bunker shots. Also wedge selected for most green side shots in real fluffy lies where contact may be a little dicey. Will also use for back-in-the-stance chips as well depending on the lie. Wedge #3 Loft: 51° - Bounce: 8° - Bent from 52*/9* - Lie Angle: 61° Shaft: True Temper S400 Used for approach shots of 100 yards and less, long chip and runs and other shots around the green where I have lots of green to work with. I really like the versatility the extra wedge in my bag gives me. This is the first time I have been able to make a 60* work for me. It just keeps getting better every day. The EPON Copper X wedges are no slouch either. They could go right into the bag without any problem. But I do find the Chikara's just a bit more versatile. ajaykkr
Two wedges - Chikara 60* - generally from 60 yards in, sometimes i will use it for the 70-75 yard shot, greenside bunkers 52* - 100 yard in. (longer shots from greenside bunkers) chips - 60* or 52* or pw / higher depending on what needs to be done..... with practice, i have been able to dial in the distance with my wedges to within 2-3 yards... so i dont feel the need for a third wedge (read 56*) allows me to put the 5 wood/2hybrid into play.... Here are a couple of rarer ones... the XXIO 45 series wedge from 2005 and Tomaru-san's Grind Studio Prototype (just got this one in auction and it's on the way!) plus1
I cannot wait to get my chikara wedges - I am taking a 3 piece set of chris and then trying my best to buy another 2 protos fro my dad. I have heard such great reviews about them..... Does anyone know do they come with the different paint fill or do we have to do that ourselves?? At the minute I have 2 miura Japan wedges 54 and 60 that are in the bag - but these do not even compare to my all time favourite Gauge Design GAS1 Forged wedges......they where freaking unreal especially for spin! Next to those I would have to say that I have a few awesome Custom Scratch wedges that Ari made up for me...... Cant wait to see how teh chikara's compare

Forte
Jspec is pretty forgiving. V3 is good as well but more workable. I use it as it has low bounce. X Wedge I use for high bounce I have always used a 3 wedge system (50 G, 56 S, 60 L) if you dont include my 44 PW. I always use full shots on all my wedges as well. No problems so far but I may experiemnt with a 2 wedge system. gocchin
Lot of Fourteen fans here... great wedges. I've pulled the Sky Dream Jump (royal collection 6150TG) out of the bag, it's model is called D-Tour BITE and boy does it really bite the ball, spin is unbelievable but I shred the ball on every single full to 3/4 shot (took 3 of those shots this morning and shred 3 balls)!!! Need something a little more kind (^_^)
gosoojj
I have Fourteen 52* and 58* MT28-V3 wedges. I used to play with all kind of Titleist wedges but Fourteen is alot better and playability. Sometimes I get trouble with too much back spin but it's all good. I save so many Pars by chipping around the green. 52* - 100 yards in. 58* - 75yards in. greenside bunkers and chips. i can stop the ball easily with this wedge. in future, i want to try out chikara
