  1. I'm certain custom options can be arranged. Chris can probably set you up for this or you can PM tbc777.
  2. In Oahu, Turtle Bay Resort and Ko Olina should be on your list of must plays. For custom work, can't beat Par 72 golf shop on Monsarrat in Diamond Head. P.S. If you want an unforgettable round bring about 2 dozen balls and head out to Koolau Golf Club. Be forewarned that the fairways do get muddy and soft after it rains, so make sure you go there only if it hasn't been raining.
  3. a lot softer than the iomics...the newer black/white, silver/lavender?, and another color combo that escapes me is a little firmer and sturdier than the original no1 grips. great feel but sand does stick to it due to its tackiness. a lot of chikaras come out of par 72 with these grips.
  4. Great information! I bought a set of Epon Type Is with SYB K's-6001 T-100 and could only find limited information on those shafts. Based on very limited testing, I think the 6001's launch lower than the NS Pros. I think the SYBs are very high in quality.
  5. Willy, Let me know your impressions on the CBs as well. I have the option of purchasing either set and a comparison would be useful. Unfortunately, I do not have the option of having demo irons available to me for these.
  6. Chris, That's interesting. Does that generally occur when Tourstage launches a new design? I had the wrong impression that GRs were forged in Thailand.
  7. Randy, Thanks for the reply. Tourstage must be on to something if it feels about equal to the Type X and even more so if, as you observe, they have better feel than that set.
  8. Thanks B! Hoping Randy would chime in since it appears he was considering the E500s as well but has moved on to the R7 forged. I was looking at the GRs in store and don't mind the channel. It appears the GRs have more muscle in the toe and heel area and was thinking that it would feel a bit more solid than the JPXs. I agree that TS quality remains high with this set.
  9. I would like to hear from those who have actually hit these irons. I have a set of JPX E500s which feel a bit "thin", although that observation comes from hitting GD NC-1s and Type Js which may be comparing apples and oranges. Wondering if these are more solid in terms of feel compared to the JPXs. Also interested in comparing these with other mid-sized irons, particularly the VIQ forged.
  10. I've been testing out the JPX and quite happy with the feel and forgiveness. Trajectory with the NS Pro 950's were too high for my taste, even with the stronger lofts, so reshafted to Dynamic Gold SL's which did lower it quite a bit to suit my taste. Can't comment on the VIQ's as I have had no experience with them. I did have a set of X-18 Pros with DG S300's and trajectory of the JPX's with the SLs is a bit higher for me but not significantly. Like Forte says, can't go wrong with them- just get the right shaft for you.
  11. Chris, I am very much interested in how the OnOff + driver compares to the Epon 460 in terms of feel and performance.
  12. i concur. the jumbo model proforce mamiya and gft is a great combo. good luck on your search!
