johnnypro
OK, here's the story. I have a 10.5* TM r7 425 TP that I L-O-V-E. I hit it longer and more solidly than anything I've tried over the past several years (and I've tried a lot). The only problem is, despite TM's claim that the TP sits 1* open, my head looks (and acts) slightly closed and, although my drives are out there a long way, I find I'm missing a lot of fairways left. Now I just got off the phone with my local shop, Pete's Golf Shop in Mineola, NY, one of the best around. They tell me that if I wanted the head on my TP bent open there is only about a 30% chance that it could be done without damaging it beyond repair, either by snapping the hosel or denting the crown. These are odds I'm not willing to accept. So my question ......is there anyone out there who thinks my guy might be too conservative in his estimate? Has anyone bent a lot of TM heads with good success rates? Or do I just have to live with the head the way it is? Any thoughts GREATLY appreciated! I suspect your club builder might be talking from his conservative experience From what I've heard over at bombsquad.com, bending drivers, woods and what not open or closed is somewhat common place for them; but, don't know that from fact. If you haven't checked them out might be worth a visit; if anything to read up.
Lowpro
always a threat of something like that happening. he did right by letting you know up front - something could go wrong. have the club as is - checked for face angle. if it is indeed sqaure to open -- you know you need to work out that kink in the swing. but start by having the face checked now - before you do anything. if he has the proepr tools- and we are talking 1* degree- not much to worry about.
