With all thing being equal, does a stiffer flex or heavier shaft make the ball flight lower?

it can yes.. what shaft- length-clubhead- all play into it.. what are you looking at..

i am thinking the same thing. my ball flight with my roddio w6ba sr is extremely high. to high in fact for my liking.

if all things being equal I would say that a stiffer flex will help keep the ball lower.

The ball flight with my ERC Hyper with stock SR flex is very high. Trouble is I am not sure if its too high as the initial ball flight starts off high which I think is ok. It certainly is not ballooning in nature but I think if I can get the ball flight lower, I would hit it longer with more roll(not sure if that is true). Therefore, without the ability to be able to test all different shafts, my question is do you go with a stiffer flex or heavier shaft.

A stiff shaft could have other affects on your swing as well Henry and the heavier shaft will change swingweight and could in face slow your swingspeed down. If you like the feel of the flex you currently use and the weight, perhaps a shaft with similar weight and flex but a higher kickpoint to bring the ballflight down would help?

Henry, there are several factors at work here- and you want to be careful in understanding that one change could affect several other areas that you were not intending. If you were pressing for one or the other- flex or weight>> go with weight.

I'd be very cautious if you are not "ballooning", overall we like to see launch with some hangtime- how far do you carry the ball and what is your handicap?
