They will rust. If you don't want them to...

When you finish your round or practice session wipe them down and let them dry completely.

I then wipe them down with a Camereon oil cloth. You can also coat them with a thin coat of baby oil.

Be sure and wipe the baby oil off the face before you hit a ball wth it.

Other ways are here

hitting these babies were the hardest part but once you have a go it will get easier and easier:) i keep mine in neopprene headcovers and i always make sure to put a tad of baby oil on the entire wedge and hosel and wipe dry with some cotton swabs. these wedges will rust, an example is i plaid in the rain about two weeks ago and it was the only time i dint follow my religious routine on drying and oiling and was surpises to see some rust particles form on the sole areas where the black oxide has thinned out.

i must have stored the wedges with the neoprene covers wet. no biggie though as the rust that formed was only pin tip in size. they will dissaperar from normal use. i do inted to still practice my routine of oiling and drying after every use.

There is a little bit of rust on mine, however the rust is far more subtle than traditional raw wedges and in my opinion looks pretty cool.

You can use a product that I've been using for ages on my Cameron putters along with my raw/oc clubs. I'm one of those guys that can't stand rust so I always spray a product called Corrosion Block on my equipment after a round or as a preventative on clubs I'm storing. Some people may not care for it because it is a penetrant but I've found no ill effects with it after over three years using it on everything from my Maru Spec wedges to Tour Napa's. Other then slight wear on the finish on the sole of my Chikara's from play, the rest of it looks like new.

Corrosion Block is sold here in Hawaii mainly at Marine/Boating shops as it's usually sold as a rust preventative on marine engines, boating parts but I have seen it on the internet. I gave a bottle to Carlton ages ago and practically anything leaving his shop gets a squirt. Definitely every Proto Chikara that he built and sent out got a squirt.

For bruddahs in Hawaii, McCully Bike has it. My favorite place to get it though is POP/Pacific Ocean Producers where it's a bit cheaper but harder to find.

YUP!

this is the stuff , that keeps the clubs looking nice.

works well on steel shafts too.

my steel shafts always rust after a while.

but with the corrosion block, its not a problem anymore.

cool

i think i need to get myself one of those :)

don't you want the impact area to rust on your wedges? what's the adverse effect besides cosmetic?

technically they are intended to rust as thats how the pros want it but for me i dont like anything to rust hence the anal post game cleaning rituals. as far as i know of , no adverse effects as long as rust is kept at a minimum
