BigEasy
Title says it all. Sonartec just release a new hybrid called HB-001. What's this from the prespective of Royal Collection? It's different from the RC TD and thier website doesn't show anything like the HB-001.
777
The HB-001 is a Sonartec creation...RC had nothing to do with it.
BigEasy
As far as I know all the Soanrtec heads are made in Japan by RC.
Duffer19
I think it is more of a Chinese connection than Japan nowadays.
BigEasy
Does this mean Sonartec heads are made in China? Can anyone confirm?
+TourSpecGolfer
Yes Sonartec and RC woods are made in China. Not many woods are made in Japan now days. The ones that are are priced high like mini drivers.
Blader-X
According to GolfWeek a few months back, Sonartec split from parent company Royal Collection and is no longer associated with them in any way.
K2_2
Blader-X, I heard about that... did the article say what happened? I didn't realize that Sonartec was big enough to drop their R&D support from RC, but with so much work being done in China, maybe it is not as difficult as it seems. I also heard that, it will be interesting to see considering Sonartec has been so heavily dependent on RC design these last what 5-6 years??? That's what I'm interested in. I don't think it'll be a good move on the part of Sonartec, but that's just my thought. I have a feeling the quality will go down as they attempt to appeal to more of the mass market but who knows. Aside from that I just received an email from Sonartec saying that this new HB-001 is now the fastest selling line for Sonartec beating out the MD. Considering the MD is actually a 3 year old model (original Td utility in japan), I would hope so.... The Td+ is still amazing... I bet you would do well with that B along with your X-UT. I bet you would do well with that B along with your X-UT. You're probably right, but the X-UT is working out just fine. Thinking about changing out the shaft and putting the UT-85 from my G-Field into the X-UT and giving that a go. No reason other than just to do it. I don't use the G-Field currently except when I go for a long range session and I'd hate to see the UT-85 go unused.
