oukk
Hello. I recently purchased 4W and a 3UT and I wonder how you normaly setup the swing weight. My driver is D4 w/ss 105-108 and my irons are usual D2. Also, if I use a heavier shaft would swing weight increase(everything considered equal)?? Thanks!! EPONfreak
Hello.I recently purchased 4W and a 3UT and I wonder how you normaly setup the swing weight. My driver is D4 w/ss 105-108 and my irons are usual D2. Also, if I use a heavier shaft would swing weight increase(everything considered equal)?? Thanks!! Hi, This is something I have just researched as the results of my fittings session require me to adjust my current equipment, I'm also working up specs for a new set of r7-forged from Chris to be ordered when the adjustments to my current set are spot on. I got this info from www.equip2golf.com Head: 2g = 1 swing weight point (swp) so if you increase the head 2g you are increasing 1 swp Grip: 5g = 1 swp (decrease sw for heavier grip) Shaft: 9g = 1 swp (increase sw for heavier shaft) 1" = 6 swp (increase sw for longer shaft) Lie: 3* = 1 swp (increase in sw for flatter lie / deacrease for upright) So if you use a heavier shaft, every 9g of additional raw weight (uncut) will increase swingweight 1 point. In my case, I'm going to trim my iron shafts 0.25", bend the lie 1* flatter and go to a heavier grip. The net difference will be an increase in sw of 0.55pts, not distinguishable. I hope this helps. Richmond Golfer
Thanks!!I've learned a lot. But, you need a swingweight scale to measure and determine which feel you like. Have your favorite feeling club measured and set from that club your desired SW from the list above to your other clubs. Keep in mind the standard grip is 50 grams, so to raise 2 SW go with a Golf Pride Dual Durometer Lite or Winn soft wrap. (both weight in about 40 grams)
